great deal     On: 2010-03-02

My son wanted a pocket knife for his birthday. I checked a local sporting goods store, and a similar model cost far more. He is delighted with his knife and I was delighted with the price.
He's happy, i'm happy!     On: 2010-02-28

I bought this as a gift for my hubby and its sooo much better than the one he lost.
I want one for me--in pink.

Extremely Satisfied     On: 2010-02-20

All utensils on this unit are very helpful and dependable. I use them all the time for tasks. My only complaint is that it is sometimes difficult to pull the various tools from the knife jacket. It would be easier to use this knife if the tools were lubricated and the spring had less tension. I would also prefer it having a flashlight on it. But overall, it is a very good product
Does it all (almost)     On: 2010-02-16

What can I say - a Victorinox Swiss Army knife. Beautiful, awesome, well made precision piece. Had it last autumn in Acadia National Park with family and used it many times. Wonderful set of tools. Scissors are great (my daughter actually prefers them! and kids dont lie!).
Are you serious!     On: 2010-02-15

Great tool on a deep fishing trip. I have yet to test how rugged this thing is and how much punishment it can take, but that is why I bought Swiss Army, but anyhow so far so good, it is really alittle Inspector Gadget...its seems like something new is always popping out of the inside of it...
Never though it could be that useful...     On: 2010-02-11

I saw this knife on sale during a gold box deal. I wanted some kind of "tool" for my purse, and I decided to give it a try.

I am really glad I did. First of all, lots of tools are available (as you can see from the description). Also, it fits perfectly is my tiny purse, which is a real bonus. The number of times I needed cissors to cut something, screwdriver or just the bottle opener for when we could not find one...

The build quality of the knife is admirable too. It is study and see like it can withstand some abuse. But then you would expect that from Victorinox.

I am very satisfied with this purchase and definitly fit the reason why I bough it : To have a tool I can use and carry around just "in case".
Better then I had thought     On: 2010-02-10

I was trying to decide between the Leatherman Wave and Swiss Champion Plus. I decided to get both as I would be using them for different purposes.
I have not received the Leatherman yet but I have been using the Swiss Champion Plus for a couple of weeks now and I love everything about it. I am really impressed with the compactness and usefulness of this tool. The scissors are easier to use then I thought they may be.
I find myself looking for jobs the tool can help me with. I almost decided not to get the Leatherman but went ahead and ordered it too...

Has Everything!     On: 2010-02-08

Gave this item to my husband as a stocking stuffer and he uses it all the time. The only bad thing is it is a little too heavy and oversized. He keeps it in his truck instead of his pocket.
best knife ever     On: 2010-02-07

this is mt first real swiss army knife and it has every gadget imaginable. The knife blade is so sharp i can slice through paper with ease. This knife is a must buy!
Great Purchase!     On: 2010-02-06

Happy with the purchase and the timeliness of the delivery. Would recommend this vendor!
Fulfills all my needs.     On: 2010-02-03

I am delighted with this product. It fulfills most of my needs, and is very well crafted. I was so happy with it, I sent my son-in-law one, and he was even happier.

I had a difficult time choosing between 2 or 3 of the products, but am happy with this one. I do wish it had a light on it however. A few of the features are a little difficult to pull out, but Im quite sure they will loosen up in time.

Champion Plus     On: 2010-01-24

Totally cool knife. Has all the handy gadgets and blades and very well made. I take it with me while kayaking and camping. I keep it in my purse also.
Who needs MacGyver when you have one of these.     On: 2010-01-23

I bought two of these as Christmas gifts and wish I would have bought one for myself. My outdoorsy teenage daughter loves hers and uses it OFTEN. I was without scissors the other day so she whipped this knife out of her pocket and, voila, scissors sharper than the pair I have at home. Super quality. Im jealous.
As a side note, this knife does have some weight to it and may be a little large to carry in your pocket on a daily basis. However, it would be perfect for the glovebox, tacklebox, backpack, or purse.
If only it included a roll of duct tape.....
Victronix makes many styles of good pocket knives     On: 2010-01-23

I keep this in my back pack for when Im out bike riding, fishing, whatever. I used to carry one of these when I was young, but now wouldnt as this model is a bit large and heavy in the pocket. It great for in my pack though. Handy assortment of tools to cover all uses. If you want a knife to carry in your pocket though, review what youll really need blade wise and go from there. For a glove box, tackle box, or pack, larger knife not a issue.
The Champion Is Still the Champ     On: 2010-01-21

I have been buying Victorinox Swiss Army Knives for special people on special occasions for many years. My sons on High School graduation received them, as did managers at my restaurant after working a year or more in that capacity. Never has a recipient or myself been disappointed. All are elated to get a Champion and then they start to make good use of it in a myriad of ways. I highly recommend.
Very useful and handy item while travelling     On: 2010-01-11

This item is very useful to have while travelling. It has a collection of a variety of tools that helps.
And still the champion     On: 2010-01-10

I wanted another Swiss Army knife with more features and looked at the Swiss Champ plus and the Swiss champ. For what ever reason the Champ has miniplyers and the champ plus does not. (Go figure, plus means less tools) I have a great Leatherman so I chose the champ plus at the lower price. If you have a son or daughter who is in the Military or loves the outdoors grab one of these quick. When you carry your home on your back in a pack, everything is weight to usefulness ratio. This has the most useful tools you need in one package. In a camping or survival situation tools like the magnifying glass, wood saw, fish disgorger, scaler, metal file and saw will be worth the weight. Like a Leatherman it is a pocket survival multi purpose tool. I wish our U.S. military would issue this or a Leatherman to every troop in todays armed forces. I have been out for a long time so maybe they do now. When I grew up every man and boy over 12 carried a pocketknife and many would have been Swiss Army type. Its time to get back to basics and reconnect with nature. With 169 reviews and an average of 4 1/2 stars how could you not love this knife? Grab one today its cheap insurance that might help save your butt.

I purchase this Swiss Army knife to replace the one I had for many years. When I seen this on sale at Amazon for only $19.95 I had to buy it.

I gave my old Swiss Army knife to my grandson and Im sure he will get many years of use from it.

Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus pocket knife     On: 2010-01-09

Very nice, and more than I was expecting. We are still trying to figure out where some of the "gadgets" are. This was certainly great value for the price.
Great purchase!     On: 2010-01-09

I bought 3 knives at a great price. My sons and son-in-law were very happy with them - I could tell because they played with them off and on for the rest of the day! And they are grown up men ------
Great Knife     On: 2010-01-09

I got this during one of the specials when it was only $19.99, GREAT knife at that price. Very sturdy, I think I love the magnifying glass the best since its such an odd thing to have on a knife. Its a bit heavy but that is to be expected for a knife with this many attachments. Overall a great value!
Beyond the call service from Amazon     On: 2010-01-08

I bought this knife for a friend in Hawaii for Christmas. USPS lost the package. Amazon immediately shipped another knife by FedEx next day air and my friend still got it by Christmas. Excellent service, beyond the call! I am very happy with the way Amazon handled this and will be a loyal customer forever.
What a great Knife!     On: 2009-12-30

Is a great Knife... Have almost everything, in a great size, in a extremely good price.
Very handy     On: 2009-12-29

I like swiss pocket knives, you can get a wide variety of styles. I find this tool to be very handy has everything i need when I go fishing, or doing outside work. Very dependable, dont know what Id do without it.

A gift realy wanted by my special lady. A-1 quality and guarantee. The price was unbelieveable and I had to buy it for her as a christmas surprise.
15 years later and still the best tool I've ever owned.     On: 2009-12-26

I currently own two Champion Plus models, one is brand new, the other Ive used daily for 15 years and just retired. I cannot express how much respect I have for Victorinox and I think this particular model is the very best one theyve ever made (Ive owned 6 other models of their Swiss Army knives). After a decade and a half of use, Ive discovered a number of intangible qualities about this knife that Ive found in no other multi-tool.

I wont get into the superiority of the individual Victorinox tools here, but if you are unfamiliar..they are all extremely well designed, well made and rugged. Victorinox blades are among the best youll find on any knife of any price range.

So the question is...why the Champion model?

Well for starters, despite the number of tools on it, the knifes handle is remarkably ergonomic. In fact, when you hold the knife in your hand, it feels like youre holding a standard screwdriver handle. This means, the knife has a phenomenal grip for using every tool on it. You can actually spin this knife around in your hand easily when using the screwdrivers, just like you would with a full size screwdriver. Needless to say, you can also get a really great grip when using the saw or hacksaw (on the metal file), and Ive used mine to cut through some really difficult to sever branches and pieces of metal.

Secondly, this knife has virtually everything that you need for everyday use. Some might find fault with the lack of pliers on this model, but I do not see it as a downfall. I dont particularly care for the Victorinox pliers, which are a bit too small for anything heavy duty. I dont think you can really replace a real pair of pliers, because you often have to use another tool in conjunction with pliers, something you couldnt do if depending solely on the Swiss Army knife as your pliers, or with the Leatherman-style multi-tools.

The handle of this knife is what makes it superior to many multi-tools as well, which are often ackward to hold when using the tool. This knifes handle is small enough to fit into tight spaces where multi-tools might be a difficult fit as well. You can hold this knife with your fingertips in a tight spot and turn it. The versatility is unbelievable.

My newest model of this knife is even better than the old one, which is really exciting. First, the magnifier is much bigger and clearer on the new model. The addition of the pen as one of the pull out tools is neat as well. Otherwise, they havent changed the design much since I purchased my previous one in 1994.

In conclusion, you simply cannot go wrong with this knife. Ive used mine to repair everything from picture frames to electric guitars, clothing to computers. And yes, Ive even fixed the kitchen sink before with this tool. I wouldnt dream of tackling any task, from camping to craft making, without this being in reach. I think youll feel the same way when you get yours.

Pocket toolbox     On: 2009-12-25

I have always bought the Tinker, but thought I would step up to the Champion. I use this pocket toolbox every single day. From opening packages, using the magnifying class to examine jewelers marks or the little screwdriver on the corkscrew for eyeglass screws every implement on this knife has been used, even the hook for carrying bags! The only implement I have used with less than success is the corkscrew: after trying it I went back to the lever corkscrew as I can see spitting teeth as a result of using it. Lifetime warranty, the Victorinex brand and the overall quality of this implement makes it handy for just about every ones pocket, purse, tackle box or desk drawer.

In the day of planned obsolescence and shoddy mass produced items these pocket knives stand out for their high quality and low price tags. Compare similar pocket tool kits and the difference in materials and quality will rapidly convince you that Victorinex is the real deal.
Great knife-tool     On: 2009-12-18

This is a great knife/portable tool. From the Philips head screwdriver to the fish scale (for those who fish) there are so many jobs this knife/tool takes care of. It cuts small pieces of wood, paper, food, opens wine bottles, fixes eyeglasses, etc. I have always like Victorinox for fantastic quality as well. Great product.
The best!     On: 2009-12-15

Im a huge fan of the Swiss Army Pocket Knives. I could not believe when I found them with that price (US$ 30). Amazon delivered for me in the following day, as I wanted. I was returnig to Brazil, and needed ASAP. Thanks, AMAZON. Thanks, Victorinox!

This Gift Was a Hit.     On: 2009-12-10

I purchased this as a birthday present for my husband. Frankly, I was stumped on what to get him, and it seemed like something a guy would enjoy. Still, I was worried about how it would go over.

He loves it! He uses it nearly every day. (Until today, it had been every day, but he informs me he didnt have a reason for the first time ever. Way to ruin a recommendation, dude.) Once I asked him to, "whip it out and give it to me," and after he realized what I meant and swallowed his disappointment, he handed me the knife. This thing has a ton of attachments that makes it something worth carrying around. I buy a fair amount of items from Amazon, I dont know if anyone has noticed this, and find myself constantly grabbing something to open the boxes, but now I put my husband to work. Admittedly, it can be put to silly use too -- like when youre looking at the magnifying glass, and the dog wants to know what youre doing, and suddenly you have a close-up of her nose. Or if you want to play Inspector Gadget.

It helps him with his train layouts, and he said something about stripping wires -- I wasnt really listening. ;) It has a corkscrew too. I remember one time we walked to the convenience store to get one, which was INconvenient, because the two others had disappeared. Now we have this, which IS convenient. Problem solved.

What was an impromptu guess of a gift turned out to be something my husband really loves. (Almost as much as me.)

This is your classic Swiss Army knife. I bought it for my son and he loves all the gadgets
Very Handy Tool - Highly Recommended     On: 2009-12-07

Having the Champion Plus Pocket Knife is like carrying a small toolbox in your pocket. It is a little too big to haul around for everyday use, but it is great to have when hiking or doing small jobs around the house. This is a well made, solid Swiss Army knife that will give years of service.

There are a lot of useful tools included on this knife (see the product description), but I find the VERY sharp knives, small Phillips screwdriver, functional scissors (really), wood saw, and ball point pen to be the most heavily used. These are all great tools and have saved me a lot of time and trouble when the need arose.

I like this knife so much that we ordered 3 more to give as gifts. Highly Recommended!
sold out     On: 2009-12-06

Okay, not sure where to post this message. This is the second time this has happened with me in a couple of weeks with gold box deals. Amazon, whats going on? I placed this in my shopping cart, then looked for another item I wanted to bring the total cost to over $25 for free shipping, while Im doing that, it seems to be sold out. It doesnt even say sold out, has just moved it to my hold to buy for later list and when I click on the gold box deal there is only another knife listed. This is really too much, and Ive wasted a lot of time here.
Nifty Knife     On: 2009-12-03

This is a really handy little knife, with a ton of features for an amazingly low price. The price has actually gone down further since I purchased it. I got this as a gift for my sister who is a war zone journalist.
best of the best     On: 2009-11-22

i bought this product for $28.00 or so,this is the best model of the Victornox line to use,it has been the most important knife in my life due to its many uses...once while camping in Georgia on a lake in January, the wind was about 20 mph, temp was 25 degrees or so,when my storm flap on my tent tore, thinking quickly,I realized that my knife had a blade that was an awl with a hole in it,which allowed me to take nylon line and do a field patch on the tear quickly, which I needed to do in the bitter cold, wet wind.I also looked online and found one just like this for $120.00 or so.They sell usually for around $80.00 or so...this is why I use Amazon for all my needs,I check there first !I figured I saved around $50.00---what a deal huh ?
Reliable Product     On: 2009-11-18

This is my second Swiss army knife, the first one was stolen with my car:( I guess thats the only chance the knife couldnt work for you. Its very reliable, convenient, especially for people who know how to use appropriate tools in different situations.

Long term owner.     On: 2009-11-17

I bought this exact model back in 1973 while stationed at Hahn AB, Germany. It was my daily use knife, and it was used (and abused) quite a bit, for 29 years until it quite literally fell apart. While I now carry a Leatherman Wave, I will be purchasing this one for daily carry when my finances allow.
Extrmely useful tool     On: 2009-11-17

This knife has almost all you need; there is only one Victorinox model with more tools than this which has a pliers included. Very easy to use. Manual needs to be downloaded from the Victorinox website.
Excellent Product and Exceptional Service by Amazon     On: 2009-11-09

I love how great this product is. With all the tools, it fits in your pocket without that heavy bulge. The tools are very reliable and handy, gets me going on most of the occasion and I love that I dont have to get my tools back for small stuff. I selected 2 day free shipping and Amazon sent me pretty fast within a day. I would highly recommend buying this from Amazon.
A great product and a great dealer ...     On: 2009-10-27

Its simply amazing... When ever I need a screwedriver/knife/scissors or any other tool, the first place I go looking for is my pocket key chain ... its the most handy tool I have ever purchased.. and this dealer is very good, I got the product on time ...
Great knife - a little heavy     On: 2009-10-24

This Swiss Army knife was a great deal on Amazon. I bought it to replace a Super Tinker that Italian airport security took, after I forgot it was in my carry on bag. Its bigger and heavier than the Super Tinker and than Id really like. I am going to keep it, though since I like some of the extra blades it has and think it covers everything I could ever need if I got stuck in wilderness.

I might buy a smaller one in the future and leave this one for the "really big adventures".
Love it     On: 2009-10-18

I got this as a birthday present for my little cousin, and it was so cool, and such a great price I had to buy it for myself.
Another One     On: 2009-09-24

Just like with tools, guns & flashlights, you cant have just one multi-tool. Youve got to have one for every purpose. I have a duty weapon, an off duty weapon, a smaller back-up weapon, a hunting rifle, a camp sidearm, a stainless for when Im out on the boat, et cetera.

Over the years, Ive collected multi-tools from Leatherman, Gerber, and SOG. Ive found that they all have a purpose, and I keep different pieces around for different applications. While not exactly the tool that I would reach for if I had a repair to make, the Swiss Army offers unique advantages.

When camping, hunting, & fishing; this is the one I want in my back pack & tackle box. Can opener, bottle opener, file, saw, fish scaler, & knives are great in the outdoors. Ive even used the magnifying glass to start a fire. The screwdrivers are a bit clumsy and awkward. I do like that little one hidden into the corkscrew. And while not suited for daily use, the little pen could do in a pinch for emergencies. The tweezers are great for pulling splinters & plucking eyebrows. I suppose the corkscrew will work if your Girl Scout troop insist upon chardonnay by the campfire.

The Swiss Army is known for the corkscrew, but the corkscrew is also awkward & clumsy. Ever try using one? You screw it into the cork - now what? You try to hold the bottle between your legs as you pull? Do you tell your girlfriend to grab the bottle & hold on tight, as you pull with all your might? A much better tool is now on the market. In my picnic kit, I keep a Leatherman Juice. While not a serious contender in the do-it-yourself & Mr. Fix-It categories, the Leatherman Juice is perfect for opening wine, opening cans, opening bottles, and cutting fruit & cheese. Excellent for the kitchen drawer, picnic basket, and lunch box. Get a real full size multi-tool, like a Gerber, SOG, or Leatherman, for your saddle bag, tool box & glove box. And for serious outdoor enthusiast, get a Swiss Army Knife.

Many uses...     On: 2009-09-16

This is my favorite Swiss army knife because it has a bit more than most other knifes. I like most of the tools, but I could have done without the fish descaler and the hook. The saw is perfect for camping, for many uses. And you also have all the handy gadgets you like on a knife: different screwdrivers, scissors, nail file, tweezers, toothpick and punch as well as your basic, essential knife blades. Ive had one of these for many years, and have used it all over the world.

Remember to carry a sharpening tool with you as well as the blades need frequent re-sharpening to be in top shape.

I found a great solution to cleaning the lint/ food that gets lodged in the grooves of the handle. I simply throw it in one of those ultrasonic jewelry cleaners that you can get on amazon for around 20 bucks and it keeps on shining like new! Overall worth way more than you pay for it!
great gift for groomsmen     On: 2009-09-15

I purchased 13 of these these on sale for 19.99 each almost a year ago to give out to my groomsmen. I had the large blade engraved with each persons initials at a local engraving shop for a few dollars each. Everyone loved the knives and people thought I spent a ton of money on my gift. 5 stars

Tons of tools, will be perfect for my needs.
I almost missed the needle! That was a nice addition.
Super Duper Sharp Slicer Dicer All In One Anything Everything thingamajig     On: 2009-07-07

Its a great tool. The nail file is the hardest to get out. The rest are pretty hard. The knife cuts trough anything, and i use the mini screwdriver to get the tools open. There are too many screwdrivers. i use the hook disgorger/ ruler as a fork. i have used it 10+ times in the first day. But it is kinda large for a pocket. The corkscrew is useless because i dont drink wine. Ive tried to burn ants with the magnifying glass! I dont know what the hook is for, and whats the point of the keyring? its too big for a keychain! Also, the scissors work really well. The bottle an can openers are helpful. The reamer isnt helpful. The fine screwdriver works well too. Havent used the wood chisel yet, or the wood saw. i have to wash the toothpick before every use! the pen is great but it is a straight pen you pull out of the side. The tweezers are great to for picking up anything small. The tools on the second side are almost impossible to remove. I dont know why amazon says there are 60 removable tools because there are 4!
How did I get along without this before?     On: 2009-06-25

What can I say? This knife has so many tools its geek-tastic to play with them all. I ended up buying 2 of them, one to keep in my car and one for my laptop bag. The build quality is excellent and every tool comes in handy. Perfect for road trips and such. The scissors are well made, the tweezers, the the files, the blades, the PEN (holy cow!). Talk about the one thing youd want on a desert island.
Swiss Army Champ     On: 2009-06-21

The name says it all. Victorinox has a nice warrantee and will replace any tool needed. Quality is good and I cannot see how normal use would cause a tool to break. How a company stand by its products could be the deal breaker for me. Highly recommend.

He is very happy with it.
Victorinox Swiss Army Knife Champion Plus     On: 2009-06-08

My gift recipient was thrilled with this Champion Plus Swiss Army Knife. It has so many features, one could "live in the woods" for 3 days using it. The price was wonderful, and I appreciated the fast delivery for an on-time birthday present. I highly recommend it for its utility and quality value.
Impressive     On: 2009-06-04

I honestly thought my parents wouldnt get this knife for me. Dad, suprisingly, said no. My Mother, much to my luck and suprise, wanted one since she was 4 1/2 (go figure). She bought two of these quality knives online. The bad part about them (4 stars reason) was that with regular order, it took about a week for them to arrive. And thats the bad news over. The good news is that this knife is good for just about everything. It is sturdy, very handy in a tight spot, and can help you solve just about everything. True stry: Im in class about to take a test and my pencil isnt sharpened. This knife is in my pocket. It takes about 5 seconds under my desk for the pencil to be perfectly sharpened =). It is a bit heavy, but this is nly a minor setback. Recommended? Definately.
More than just a pocket knife     On: 2009-06-02

This is a great all-purpose pocket knife. Everything works as claimed. Unfortunately its a bit large and heavy to carry around inside the pants. Otherwise the best bet is to keep it handy in a jacket pocket or utility belt or within easy reach where it is most useful. Theres no question this is a wonderfully useful tool to have wherever you go, even if its around the house.
Besides the excellent main blade, I enjoy using the scissors, toothpick and screwdrivers. The nail file was also a nice touch. The other included tools were great finishing touches to a terrific tool that I have had regular use from.
This@knife is great for its money and is just simply awesome!     On: 2009-05-28

This knife is bulky but is great. Usually this knife would cost $80 at the victronix site. It has many useful features.

CHampion Plus Swiss Army Knife     On: 2009-05-27

The knife is just as shown, no surprises. I am very pleaseed with the item.
It's a good knife. Read how It changed my life!     On: 2009-05-25

It was the summer of 1944 and I had just been expelled (in disgrace) from the Swiss Army. As for possessions, I had little more than the clothes on my back, my Grover-Trophy Metal Kazoo (Standard) and of course my trusty, military issued Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus Pocket Knife.

Just days earlier, I had been certain that I was destined for military greatness. You see, I had acquired a rifle and several thousand rounds of ammunition, while on leave in Italy some six months prior. It occurred to me that if I could demonstrate to the military high command how potentially useful a rifle could be for military stuff... perhaps they would consider investing in some and possibly even issue them to our troops. Dont get me wrong... each of us dogfaces valued our Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus Pocket Knife... the primary weapon issued to all of us Swiss fighting men at that time. As terrific as these little knives were, we felt insufficiently armed when we hunkered down in our battle trenches, waiting for enemy sharpshooters to run out of ammo before we dared to charge them... knives drawn... teeth bared.

When not afield facing down the invading Nazi hordes, my assigned duty post was that of the solitary guard of a large warehouse which was situated in a remote corner of our military base. Each day, I walked the perimeter of that big old warehouse, my Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus Pocket Knife drawn and at the ready. Since acquiring the rifle, my evenings and weekends had been spent diligently practicing my marksmanship inside that very warehouse. By then, I had fashioned it into my own private, makeshift firing range. I fired round after round into the wooden crates that filled that warehouse from floor to ceiling... determined to hone my skills.

A day came when I was at my post and saw an approaching motorcade. It was none other than King Victorino X, King of Switzerland accompanied by an entourage of our small but proud nations highest military officials. I closed the blade of my trusty Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus Pocket Knife, quickly stashed it in my pocket, made a snappy salute and stood at full attention in the presence of His Majesty and my superior officers.

I was ordered to open the doors of the warehouse so the King could inspect the contents of the warehouse. Which as my bad luck would have it turned out to be the entire supply of the Kings royal cheese! As I learned later, each of these prize cheeses had been made with several gallons of Tuscan Whole Milk, 1 Gallon, 128 fl oz (available here on Amazon for $77.76 per gallon). The cheeses had been crated in wooden boxes and stored in this warehouse so that they could age to perfection. The King was... shall we say... somewhat angry to discover every box shot full of holes from my months of secret target practice.

I was immediately dismissed from the Army (and the country). The cheese was all but ruined. No longer fit for the king, and shot full of holes, it was sold to delicatessens around the world to be used on sandwiches by commoners. It still tastes pretty good with ham on rye if you ask me.
Just right     On: 2009-05-18

Plenty of fun and useful stuff. Good quality. How can you ask for anything more?
not completely what I ordered     On: 2009-05-15

Very nice knife, and really good price but be aware! Picture is not what you are gettng! Pliars are not included in this knife like shown in the picture which was one reason why I was buying this. Kind of disappointing, but for the price it was still worth it. Just to bad sellers are liars.
good except for one thing     On: 2009-05-09

this item was good and i got it while it was on a really good sale the only thing that i didnt like about it was one or two of the blades was not sharpened to my standards i soon fixed that also they did not tell you about the needle under the corkscrew the small screw driver practically points it out to you though
Really liked it.     On: 2009-04-25

I use it in my belt (with the pouch) and its really cool. Very comfortable and beautiful looking.
You won't be disappointed     On: 2009-04-13

I have wanted one of these since I was a kid. I finally decided to get one for myself and I love it. It has already come in handy on several occasions. I am making it a point to try and use every tool in the knife at least once. I am not a wine drinker so the corkscrew will probably one of the last tools I put to use. This knife goes with me everywhere I go. I love the fact that it fits nicely into the coin pocket in my jeans.

This knife is very versatile - lots of uses. Its great. I keep it in my car for emergencies. Thanks.
Service is good     On: 2009-04-09

My first order was lost by USPS, but the company sent me a replacement as soon as possible by UPS. Their service is good, and I like the knife.
great tool     On: 2009-04-09

I bought this knife for myself after getting a slightly different Victronix pocket knife for my boyfriend a year and a half ago. Both knives are great quality and quite handy.
Good knife with many Tools! But not too big...     On: 2009-04-04

Before I got this knife I never carried my Swiss Army knife. Yes I had one and I took it when I was camping, but every day carry? No way! Then I bought the Champion Plus because it was inexpensive compared to some of the newer Swiss Army Knives. From then on, I was hooked! I carry it every day!

I own a SwissChamp too and its just too much. The pliers are not that useful (they are small) and they add quite a bit of heft to the knife. The Champion Plus is big, but MUCH more manageable and it has ALL of the same tools EXCEPT for the pliers. You can do anything with this knife! Its a pocket toolkit.

The magnifying glass on the knife is a bit different than pictured (its clear plastic) but all the new knives seem to have the same thing. Great deal if you are looking for a knife that does it all. The SwissChamp is just too much.... Go for the Champion Plus!

Nice, Quick ship..     On: 2009-03-24

The Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus Pocket Knife which I purchased was excellent and perfect. The amazon shipped it quickly as usual. I was satisfied with the business. I will recommend to buy this product without hesitation if you exactly want this product.
thanks.

Marine Corps and beyond     On: 2009-03-06

I have had the same knife since 1992 when I bought it at the Kaneohe Bay Marine Corps exchange, I have carried that knife on every deployment and operation since. I have since retired and still, it is the first thing I pack when going on a trip. It is the number one "when all else fails" tool. And if it breaks in any way, remember to send it back off to Victorinox, they will fix it. Good piece of gear. Semper Fi

Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus lives up to its name     On: 2009-01-26

I have an appreciation for the real Swiss Army knives and decent multi-tools, and the Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus is the one that sits in my camera bag, ready to go at all times. Measuring just 3-1/2-inches long, its perhaps one of the best all-around tools that a pro or amateur photographer could look for as far as versatility goes.

There have been many times that this well-designed tool has come in handy in the field, and on a number of occasions its been the one single item that has made the difference in a good day when shooting photos in the woods or wilderness. This knife isnt overly large, and even though it has a number of tools, its quite manageable. The design has been proven over the years, and its quite well thought out. Every single tool here has proven to be usable and easy to access once it has been used for awhile.

The Swiss Army Champion Plus has the following tools:

* Large and small blades
* Large and small screwdriver
* Phillips screwdriver
* Metal file, metal saw
* Corkscrew, can opener, bottle opener
* Reamer, punch
* Scissors
* Multi-purpose hook
* Wood saw & fish scaler
* Hook disgorger, ruler
* Nail file, nail cleaner
* Fine screwdriver, chisel/scraper
* Magnifying glass
* Pressurized ball point pen
* Mini screwdriver, sewing eye
* Key ring, tweezers, toothpick

The large and small blades do just what is expected. The ruler is marked in inches & centimeters, and is located on the fish scaler/hook disgorger tool. Theres a small multipurpose hook tool on the reverse of the knife thats quite handy for carrying heavy plastic grocery bags (twist and loop them), keeping them from cutting into your fingers. It works well with clothes on a hanger, too.

Not well noted is the fact that it comes with a handy small micro screwdriver thats stowed within the corkscrew, so dont lose it. The tweezers are quite handy (for removing splinters or holding small parts) and these, along with the toothpick and ball point pen refill, can be picked up as spare parts from Victorinox if and when needed.

Some might prefer the Victorinox Swiss Army Swiss Champ Pocket Knife because it has pliers, but I prefer the larger needlenose pliers in a regular multi-tool such as the Gerber Suspension Multi-Plier or the lightweight Leatherman Kick Pocket Multi-Tool for really getting the job done in fairly tight places. If either of those seem too large, theres always the super compact Gerber Clutch Mini Pliers Tool, which can be carried in a pocket at all times.

As a note of caution when using the Swiss Army Champion Plus (and some other models), the blades dont lock, so you need to be careful when using it. The larger-sized Victorinox Swiss Army One Hand Trekker, which is 4-3/8 inches long, has a large serrated locking blade along with a locking screwdriver. This model is not really pocket sized, and has a more limited choice of tools, so the Champion Plus might be a better choice for carrying on a daily basis.

Pros:

- Excellent value for the money
- Made from high quality Swiss stainless steel
- Excellent assortment of tools, all in one small package
- Has a lifetime Warranty

Cons:

- The blades dont lock, so be careful!

It should be noted again that all of the blades and tools are crafted from stainless steel, and its still made entirely in Switzerland... and it has a lifetime warranty from a company that know how to back it up.

Tip: if you get one of these, spend about fifteen minutes familiarizing yourself with it, opening and closing all of the tools, and "exercising" them. Gently spray some WD-40 with the red nozzle tip into each of the joints so that theyll move freely in the field when you need them. Doing this will make it pay off with years of service for you.

This Swiss Army Champion Plus Pocket Knife from Victorinox lives up to its name. Its a great tool, an excellent value, and makes a splendid gift for just about anyone.
Wonderful thick knife (and tools)     On: 2009-01-25

Great value on sale. Sharp as heck. Heavy in the pocket, this one goes in my car.
Good knife, good price but ...     On: 2009-01-24

I really like this knife, also the price was really good, but when I opened the package the knife was a kind of scratched on the red part.
you wont be disappointed     On: 2009-01-23

This is another addition to my Swiss Army Family, I bought my first one in the Anchorage Alaska Airport, tax free, 20 years ago (1989)for exactly $59.95 (box still has the sticker on it)and it was called Victorinox Swiss Army Champion...or swisschamp, not the plus. When I saw it here for $28 I just had to have another one. (Still have my old one - mint shape, well almost - I usually dont buy anything I cant or wont use as some point in time.) Have a smaller one I carry daily. On a side note just bought the Victorinox swisstool RS, and I must say its a must have for any Victorinox owner, you wont be disappointed. It just a great all - around knife.

Timeless pocket knife     On: 2009-01-11

Bought this for my son as his Christmas gift. He got a ton of stuff, and this was his favorite! Hes 9, soon to be 10 in a month.

Hes been glued to this pocket knife since he got it.

The one downside is that we thought this one has the wire stripper in it also, since it says "PLUS", but no - the regular Victorinox Swiss Army Swiss Champ Pocket Knife has the wire stripper in it. Its $42.97, instead of the $27.99 for the "PLUS" version.

You would think because it says "PLUS" then that means it has more features.

Note: Take CAUTION when using the Swiss Army Champion Plus because the blades dont lock. You can cut yourself easily, so you need to be careful when using it. The blade is very sharp.

Great value! Great knife with a every feature imaginable. If your kid is in some kind of Scouting he will love it and Im sure it will be used time and time again.
it works great~!     On: 2009-01-11

i bought it as a gift 4 my bf, and he used it to make a gift 4 me~ he said it was awesome he can even engrave on a piece of very hard wood and it works great

great knife for a great price     On: 2009-01-10

I cannot believe the price amazon had for this swiss knife. I have had one myself for 25 years (still looks great) and when I saw the price I bought one for a xmas present and will buy another for another present. This things make excellent presents and they are always useful, particularly when I travel. The not too big it carried around.
Awesome knife and great value!     On: 2009-01-10

The Swiss Army knife was supposed to be a "stocking stuffer" for my husband...it turned out to be his favorite gift! He uses it everyday.
Wonderful Product     On: 2009-01-09

What can I say? Anything with the Swiss label from my personal experience to date has been nothing but the equivalent of the highest standards in excellence. Everything you expect in terms of function and efficiency, and then some. I purchased this version instead of the regular Champion because I was afraid that this would already be too bulky for my personal taste; I am glad that I was wrong. Not only is this product so lightweight that I would not worry the link breaking if I hung it on a lanyard chain, it also feels natural/is easily gripped by my hands. Solidly built, the tools (asides from the plastic magnifying class) looks highly resistant from breakage/wear.

The only thing I would have to say is that the primary knife, although nice, is not as long as sharp as I would have hoped. It is more ready to cut a stick of butter than to cut off a chunk of meat when youre out in the woods.
excellent product     On: 2009-01-09

VICTORINOX SWISS ARMY KNIFE     On: 2009-01-07

I have owned several Swiss Army Knives over the years and have always found them to be of superior quality. This purchase is no exception. Its well made, functional and aesthetically attractive for those who appreciate a good knife. It has tools that one will use often and some that may only be needed occasionally but its all in a nice compact frame. I dont think you could buy a better multipurpose knife at any price than those made by Victorinox and getting this Swiss Champion at a $50 savings rocks!

Swiss Champ     On: 2009-01-07

This is an amazing Swiss supertool in a package small enough to carry in your pocket with all the quality that you would expect from a genuine Victorinox. If you like Swiss Army knives, youll love this one, although I would recommend the Swiss Champ for even more tools. Amazon has the lowest price out there (especially when you catch it unusually low like I did) and unlike [...], their free shipping option will have it at your place in less than a week.
Kook Knife!     On: 2009-01-07

This knife is the real deal! Ive had the fakes. They look good, but are always cheesey in quality. This Victorinox Swiss Army knife has ALL the goodies, and the price was unbelievable! Twenty years ago, I paid $70 for this same knife. Amazon offered it for a fraction. I bought two! If they offer them again at this price, Ill buy two more!

Swiss Army Champion Plus     On: 2009-01-06

Purchased this product as a Christmas gift for our teenage son. He describes it as Awesome!. We were very pleased with the quality for the price. Definitely worth it! Only concern is that the manual must be the same one that is included with all of the different models, as the photos in it include a few tools not on this knife.
Atool for everyone.     On: 2009-01-06

This tool box in a knife-case has served me well so I bought one for each of my sons. Trimming a hangnail, fixing eye glasses, cutting a branch for marshmallow roasting, picking a sliver out of a finger, opening a non-screw top bottle, popping a wine cork (nobody on the tourist bus in Italy had a cork-screw but me), hack sawing a chain (lost the padlock key), and opening those tenacious plastic blister packs are just a few of the tasks I use the knife for.

I even pay to check luggage so I can take it on trips.
Handy, well appointed knife     On: 2009-01-05

I purchased a number of these for Christmas gifts and everyone seemed to appreciate them. I was surprised at my 50-something sisters excitement over winning it in a gift game we have. I had expected it to be more of a masculine gift but it is so handy that any "gadget lover" would find it interesting and useful. I like to keep one in the glove compartment of each vehicle for those times when you may need to tighten something or a pair of scissors, nail file, eyeglass screwdriver, saw, or any of the many other, varied tools included in it. It even has a toothpick and magnifying glass! My only complaint is that some of the tools are difficult to open, often causing broken nails.

Of course, Swiss Army quality speaks for itself. I will update if I have any noteworthy experiences to share as time goes on.

In my opinion, EVERYONE should have at least one!

Great product, Great gift for men & young adults     On: 2009-01-04

I bought this gift for my husband and it was a great value! It is great quality and the kind of quality you would expect from Swiss Army brand. It seems to work appropriately. We are going to keep it in my husbands SUV and use it whenever needed but particularlly on camping trips.
Great gift!     On: 2008-12-29

I purchased two of these knives for my sons. They are eleven and fourteen. Pocketknives were on their Christmas list. The price and reputation of Swiss greatly influenced my final decision. We live in rural Alabama and they can always find reasons to need their pocketknives. My eleven year old was especially impressed with all of the gadgets, including the tiny screwdriver which is perfect for adjusting his eyeglasses.

Just a reminder if you do purchase pocketknives for kids, they can not take them to school or school functions. Pocketknives are considered weapons and possession of them at school or school functions is a huge offense.

Dont purchase pocketknives for your kids unless you know they can be responsible owners.
Swiss Army Knife     On: 2008-12-28

Given as gifts to sons, both say they are excellent, better than the old ones they had years ago. But, there are way too many of these to choose from and no list of what is included. I had to find it on their website in order to type out list of what tools are in it. I gave it a three because of this reason and because its very hard to pull the tools out, at least it is for me on the one I have.
Great gift for my boyscout     On: 2008-12-26

My son just got this gift for Christmas. He is a boyscout. It came in handy all day -- opening boxes and battery compartments and getting through the annoying ties that secure every childs toy into its box. He said that it is the most awesome gift ever -- which is big since he got toys and video games too. Now I want one for when we camp and hey, just to have in the kitchen!
Excellent, Purposeful Knife     On: 2008-12-25

The Swiss knife lived up to all my expectations. Great product, sturdily constructed and a good fit for the case that I already owned from my last knife.

This is very nice stuff. Multifunctional and good quality.

oh the shipping is fast too.
Woohoo!!!!!     On: 2008-12-20

This is a fantastic knife. I was a little disappointed that the instructions showed pliers and there were none, but who cares? This is the greatest value for a swiss army knife I have ever seen so woohoo!!!
Very good value     On: 2008-12-17

It is hard to imagine using all of the functions of this knife, but the price and quality cannot be beat for the functions you will use. I carry one of them in my tackle box on my boat and find that it is very handy, especially the scissors.

The only negative I have found, and it is minor, is that the instruction sheet is for the model that has the fold out pliers and this knife does not have this function. There are a couple of other items that do not match, but as I said, this is relatively minor considering the quality of the knife.

I have not had it long enough to check its resistance to corrosion, but I do not anticipate any problem.

I think that it is too heavy for a pocket knife, but for the tackle box, it is perfect.

This knife will also make a great gift that will last a long time. In fact, I have bought one to give to my youngest Grandson when he gets a little older.
One of my favorites     On: 2008-12-08

I have several knives, some which I cant locate. I always know where this one is because its one of my favorites. With the exception of pliers, this knife does all that I generally need and it is comfortable in the hand. Although the little pen isnt very easy to use, I like to know that its there if needed. The hook has come in very handy for grocery bags that tend to dig into the hand. I try to oil the blades regularly to keep them moving with ease and I also sharpen the blades but dont over-sharpen them. I have had to return Swiss Army knives in the past for replacement from the very reliable company, but this one is holding up just fine. Although it contains more tools than others, it isnt really much larger and doesnt weigh a ton. Ill eventually get a case for this. Made great gifts, too, when Amazon offered them at incredible prices!
Handy tool to keep in your desk or garage     On: 2008-12-06

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R36FV2YQVU05YN The Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus is a very handy knife to keep in your desk or garage. However, most people will find it a little to large to carry with them at all times.

Features that I like-

- Decent quality blade - this is not a premium blade, but it adequate for most tasks.
- Scissors are the most useful item. I find that they come in handy when I need to snip a bit of string or wire when I am working in the yard.
- Small flat-head make working on glasses a cinch.
- Tweezers are actually pretty useful.
- I have used the small magnifying glass a couple times to find splinters.

Features that I have never used

- I have my doubts is the bottle opener would work
- I have never used a leather punch in my life
- The file - I could see where it could be useful, but I have never had the need.
- Cork Screw
- The small hook

FInal verdict - the Swiss Army Champion Plus is a nice knife to have handy. Amazon usually offers this knife at a price that makes it even more attractive.

4 stars.
Great knife     On: 2008-12-02

Great knife for the desk drawer. It has most anything you might need tool wise for the office.
Great product. Maybe a little overkill.     On: 2008-11-26

This knife will do everything that you will ever need doing....plus many youve never even thought of. Quality is great. Only drawback is that its pretty big in size for just carrying around in your pocket. [Your girlfriend might mistakenly think that youre just glad to see her.] Nevertheless, if Crocodile Dundee would see it, even he would have to admit that "now this is a knoif"!!
Swiss Army Champion Plus Indeed!     On: 2008-11-25

The Swiss Army Champion Plus is a winner without a doubt. With Victorinox you know youre getting a world class all-around utility knife and this is no exception. With more functions than MacGyver could figure out its a practical and not overwrought multi-function tool for use at home or in the field. At Amazons price, a steal!
It's got everrrything     On: 2008-11-25

I bought this knife to be a supplement to my CERT bag in case of emergencies. It has more than I expected and is a great knife. With a file that can also cut metal and bolts and a REALLY sharp saw it is very practical in an emergency. I have it sitting where I can get to it easily now, because it is such a great knife. I probably wont put it in my pocket very often, but I wasnt planning on that anyway.
Great for the Price     On: 2008-11-25

I had one of these knives for years and then lost it (I think it was stolen). The knife has a ton of useful tools and is very well made. The only thing I miss from the first one I had was it came with a case, this one does not. But considering that I paid 3X the price I did for the new one I can live with out a case.

If you are going to buy a knife, Victorinox is the way to go!!!!!

Gadget overload     On: 2008-11-25

I bought this knife, thinking it was a replacement for a SMALL keychain Swiss Army knife I had that was getting "yukky" and old, so I was surprised that I had ordered a pocket-size knife when it arrived- my fault. Forgetting the size mistake, there are really too many gadgets in this one- despite the fact that I love gadgets. They are too hard to pull out individually and you have to pull others out sometimes to get to the one you want. I didnt know it was so hunting/fishing oriented either. I dont know when Ill ever need to use the fish scaler!! My 14 yr old son is drooling for the knife, so I may just give it to him for Christmas and hunt down the small one I wanted in the first place. Great bargain though at $19.
A toolbox in a very small package     On: 2008-11-24

This is a great product that Ive owned for years. I recently bought a replacement for the one I lost. With this "knife" one can keep a large collection of tools in a very small space. I wont repeat the long list of tools - you can find that in the product description. I will say that the tools Ive used (most of those available) work well, and the knife lasts many years (my old one was over 5 years old and still in as good a shape as when I first bought it.
Great value     On: 2008-11-23

Great value for all of the tools included. I keep this in my glove box of my car, ready for whatever life throws my way on short notice.
Rust free after 20+ years.     On: 2008-11-20

Got my fathers old Swiss pocketknife. I remember it as an 8-10 year old.(Im 39 now) Going through my dads effects I found the knife recently. Sharp as anything out of the store and NO RUST anywhere. Not even a little...Unbelieveable, the quality. Luckily, I didnt have to buy mine. But, your son may not have to buy his.
Great for camping and around the house     On: 2008-11-18

Let me start by admitting that I purchased this one on a whim. I found it as a Gold Box deal for under $20. I couldnt pass it up and thought I would use it as a gift for one of my elder sons. After it arrived and I took some time to look it over, it found its way to my pocket where you can find it most days.

Others have written comparisons to other models, and have highlighted specific tools. Ill try to add a few things that helped make this one of my favorite knives.

- Right off the bat, theres no beating the style of can-opener that youll find on this and every other Victorinox Swiss Army Knife. Ive used both types (on Wegner and Victorinox models) and this one wins, hands down.

- I wear eyeglasses, and the mini screwdriver that is nested in the corkscrew is perfect for tightening up the screws on my glasses. You can either use it separately, in your fingers, or you can flip it over and thread the blunt (handle) end back into the corkscrew, allowing you to use the full knife as a handle. That simply makes it easier to use.

- I dont use the hook for carrying tied packages, but find it invaluable for removing hot pots from over a fire. No more burnt fingers from the water pot for me!

- I like having both the larger and smaller cutting blades, especially for whittling.

- The scissors are larger than those on the Classic (I have one on my key ring), so I find them easier to use, especially for cutting fabric or larger sections of paper (like coupons from the in-store flier).

- The number of screwdriver tips makes this knife a wonderful tool to have on-hand for quick tinkering. The phillips head is suprisingly versatile. I was able to use it on extremely small wood screws, and it works very well on computer case and mounting screws (Im a techie by trade, and love having this one with me at the office).

- The one feature I thought I would never use, the ballpoint pen, actually came in quite useful a few days after pocketing this knife. I was at a product launch meeting and I didnt have a pen (I had counted on the vendor giving away logo pens, but they ran out). The pen nests into the same groove as the hook (albeit at the opposite end), making for a suprisingly comfortable and easy-to-use writing instrument.

- Finally, since Ive been wilderness camping for more than 25 years, I like having the magnifying glass as a good weather fire-starter.

This is the knife that sits in my pocket most days of the week. I also take it on all of my weekend camping trips and hikes. I do like some other knives for other occasions (I prefer, for example, my Centurian {also by Victorinox} when Im canoeing in the BWCA since I can use the longer {4"} blade to fillet fish and since I like the thinner profile stuffed into my pocket while sitting in the canoe). This a fantastic, all-around knife. You cant go wrong for the price (even if $60). Its well-worth it and bound to become a favorite.
Everything but the kitchen sink...     On: 2008-11-17

The only minor drawback the Champion Plus is there are no pliers like in the Champion. I got this for my son at a Lightning Deal price of $19.99. Thats an incredible amount of knife for the money. Frankly, I expected a lower quality knife but was very happy when I received a high-quality product. Its big but any gear-head will like it. Add a Leatherman multi-tool and youre a walking toolbox.
What you would expect.     On: 2008-11-16

I bought this for my wife as a gift since she had lost her other Swiss knife. She had one that has like 8000 tools but this unit suites her needs fine. She carries it in the car as more of a tool than a daily use type of knife. Its been used many times and she is perfectly happy with it. Craftsmanship and fit/finish seemed what you would expect from Swiss.
Awesome knife     On: 2008-11-13

I like to camp and hike. I go as often as I can and every time I go I HAVE to carry my Swiss Army knife with me.I thought I would never use every tool on this knife but I have.
It is very good quality, you get MORE than you pay for. Excellent to carry with you or have in your car for emergencies.
Cool knife-set     On: 2008-11-10

I guess this is something everyone dreams of owning as a kid. Very nice collection of excellent tools, although I wish they would include an LED in one of the larger sets. Also, a wire cutter would have been welcome, although there are other tools one could use for the purpose. Superb gift, or just something super-useful to have lying around any time. Incredible how they manage to fit everything into such a small package!
The Swiss Army Champion Plus lives up to its name     On: 2008-10-24

I have a thing for the real Swiss army knives and decent multi-tools, and this Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus Pocket Knife is the one that sits in my camera bag, ready to go at all times. Its perhaps one of the best all-around tools that a pro or amateur photographer could look for as far as versatility goes.

Im not going to go through all of the tools that this handy Champion Plus Pocket Knife has, but read the specs and use your imagination. Works fine with clothes on a hanger as well.

[Note: see the photo with notes that Ive posted here for a graphic breakdown of these tools and blades.]

Some might prefer the Victorinox Swiss Army Swiss Champ Pocket Knife because it has pliers, but I prefer the larger needlenose pliers in a regular multi-tool such as the lightweight Leatherman Kick Pocket Multi-Tool or the Gerber Suspension Butterfly Opening Multi-Plier for really getting the job done. If either of those seem too large, theres always the super compact Gerber Clutch Mini Pliers Tool, which can be carried in a pocket at all times.

Pros:

- Excellent value for the money
- Made from high quality Swiss stainless steel
- Excellent assortment of tools, all in one small package
- Has a lifetime Warranty

Cons:

- Blades dont lock, so be careful!

This Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus lives up to its name. Its a great tool, an excellent value, and a splendid gift for just about anyone.
Swiss Army Champ Plus Complete     On: 2008-09-15

The Swiss Army Champ is actually more knife than what I thought was ordering but it has everything from a little screw driver in the cork screw to a saw, to ball point pen, and also a regular knife blade. The knife is well made and is not a knock-off one from China. The only thing I dont really like is it fatter than I thought. At least one inch wide.
Victorinox Swiss Army Knife Champion     On: 2008-08-31

The reason I purchased this knife is because I wore my other knife out; to many sharpnings and to many improper uses. I have had many pocket knifes, four of them Swiss Army Knifes. Victorinox makes great Swiss Army knife.
Very nice and usefull knife.     On: 2008-08-30

I own 4 Victorinox knifes and this is the best of them all.
I had a little problem with delivery of the product - the USPS post guy took the original shipment and kept it for him self ( I supose ), because he explain how he put the package inside my garage, which is impossible - Im always keep my garage locked! There for I contacted Amazon.com and was nicely surprised when they told me I will get another knife. It took me exchanging of 3-4 e-mails and about 2 weeks to get the replacement, but Im very pleased whith the knife!
All the tools are easy to be open (I had problem with that in another pair of knifes) and very, very useful. Im taking the knife for hiking in Colorado where it will pay itself back in 10 days!
Thank you, Amazon.com!
The Best Victorinox     On: 2008-08-13

Well I bought this knife to upgrade from my wenger canyon(which is also a great knife) and it is a huge step up. Its got 30 tools! I couldnt believe that when I saw it was only $30. The only thing is it comes with a manual for the regular swiss champ, not the swiss champ plus.

P.S. In case you dont find it the straight pin is under the corkscrew.
Swiss army knife victorinox     On: 2008-08-06

The Victorinox Swiss Army Knife has all the tools that I would ever want.
It is not too big to fit into my pocket and I believe the knife is strong enough to stand up under continued use.
Best price victorinox out there     On: 2008-07-21

For the price this is best victorinox knife out there. It has all the tools you would expect in a knife. Very nicely build and pretty sturdy.

You will treasure this for years!
champ plus     On: 2008-07-18

As always, good quality youd expect from Victorinox. Just keep in mind that this is NOT the swiss champ (which has an pair of pliers in addition to all the champ plus functions). I actually recommend these since you have to pay a good deal more for the swiss champ. So unless the pliers are extremely important to you, I dont think its worth the price difference.

Victorinox makes great knives. I collect knives and I notice that their knives pretty much dont ever rust (but the aluminum spacers do if left in a humid place for a LONG time). Cheap, good quality and reliable, theyre perfect everyday-carry-knives. Id recommend them over 100 dollar folders from other "high-end" companies like spyderco or benchmade (though they are a lot prettier).
Good product     On: 2008-07-16

Very Handy. We love it. They put in a wrong Manual. The Manual says there is a Pliers. But actually, there is no Pliers on Champion Plus
good brand, hard to open     On: 2008-07-16

I like Swiss Army, but was suprised that it was so hard to open each items.
Swiss army knife     On: 2008-07-12

It has everything you can think of on it. The only draw back is that it is too heavy to carry in your pocket.
Love the Swiss     On: 2008-07-12

I have had a Swiss Army knife in my pocket for over 30 years. This one is number 4, and even better than any I have had before. I would not leave home without it.

Mine's 30+ Years Old and Still Going Strong     On: 2008-07-06

I bought a Swiss Army Champion approximately 32 years ago for about $35. I still have it and just got it out to take a look at its condition. It still looks practically new with shiny steel and very sharp blades (aided once in a while with a diamond whetstone). I have used my knife to do all sorts of things including sawing down a Christmas tree, butt hinging and hanging a door, drilling holes for screws, opening the occasional bottle of wine/beer, etc. As I like to say, never mind your American Express Card, never leave home without your Swiss Army Knife. The thing is invaluable and worth twice the price.
Great knife!     On: 2008-07-03

Only reason I cannot give it five stars is that it is missing the pliers from the SwissChamp, but then this isnt the highest end knife and the price is right. Get one of these and it will last you your entire life (until you lose the tweezers and the scissors get dull).
Great Product     On: 2008-06-22

I bought one of these in the Base Exchange while serving in the US military. I have had it for nearly 25 years.

I thought what a great gift this would be for my grandchildren when they come around.

One of my most precious possessions.
Very Handy     On: 2008-06-20

A bit bulky to carry around in your pocket, but it has lots of tools if / when you need them.
, on time delivery, looks good,     On: 2008-06-18

this is basically a all-in-one tool, I just bought it to fullfill one of my old dreams, but speak the truth, I doubt I would never use some of them in my whole life time, but it is tool, and price 29.99 is worthy.

if is a little bit thick and heavy for me, since it got some many items on it.
great little gadget knife     On: 2008-06-09

Well it has all the things that a victorinox knife should have, its nicely oiled and very sharp as expected, cant say much but that this is exactly what I expected.

Over all this is a very useful tool and if your dougting on getting this Knife dont it has made my life so easy.
Fabulous tool and fabulous price     On: 2008-06-01

I have little to add to the other 5 star reviews except I am really lucky to obtain this delightful tool at this price. I wanted to buy this knife 25 years ago when it was $80 in 1980 dollars.

Light weight, high quality, this is a bargain and I use it for some task every day.
every tool I wanted     On: 2008-05-09

While no army knife is for everyone, theres always one that fits you the best. Take some time to compare each swiss army knife and make an informed decision before purchase! I did, and I got the perfect knife for me, at this unbeatable price!
champion plus value     On: 2008-04-21

my first review, the victorinox swiss army champion plus is the best multitool for the money. I bought one and gave it to my wife and had to buy my own..I have it in my pocket most all the time and find several uses for it. I have another mulit-tool in a holster but find the swiss is quick and simple. Many features and not too big. I really dont have a want for the bigger unit. All is good with my pocket multi-tool!

Great Tool/Good Value     On: 2008-02-16

I bought this as a present for my youngest son to use in his model building. Its tough and does the job. The only drawback is that some of the tools are really had to get out, but Im sure that theyll get easier to get to over time.
Very good knife.     On: 2008-02-13

My wife lost the Swiss Army knife my dad gave me 20-some years ago for First Communion. I bought this knife as a replacement in hopes that I will eventually give it to a son or nephew of mine, when theyre age-appropriate.

Its a very nice knife, all red and shiny and new. Also, very well stocked. And by stocked, I mean theres just about everything tucked in there somewhere. Seriously, I find new stuff every day.

I rated this knife a four out of five because the book that came with it is pretty useless. I have friends who are technical writers and I know a lousy instruction manual when I see one, if you know what I mean.
pix showed different product     On: 2008-01-21

I returned the item because the web pix showed a built in pliers and the item received did not have it. The pix above is not the one that you had posted when I ordered.

In any case I was happy with the return treatment and it gies me confidence in future purchases.
Great Value     On: 2008-01-21

While this is too bulky for an everyday pocket knife (fine for a jacket pocket, but big for jeans), its a great car glove compartment "who knows when youll need it) knife and a great knife to take camping when you never know what challenge may arise--and this knife has such an array of useful tools. There are so many uses: many may find it necessary to keep the paper illustrating its components with them. It seems to be of high quality, and while some of the tools seem small, theyll do the job in a pinch, which is what most would want/need from such a tool. Imagine circumstances/situations when bulky tools are distant and youre in an "OMG, what do I do now?" moment and this knife/tool set comes to the rescue.

I both this item and my husband loves it. He has 3 Swiss Army Knives already, but this one has options that werent available in the other models. Great price through Amazon! Thanks.
Amazing Deal     On: 2008-01-19

This knife is an amazing deal (at around $30). The price varies somewhat, but as others have mentioned this is basically the same as the Swiss Champ model, but without the pliers. This is a great knife and a great gift for a person who likes to tinker with things or explore. Victorinox Swiss Army knives are of high quality, and this one is an exceptional value right now. I found the knife is not too big or heavy to carry, although Im not the type of person to carry it in my pants pocket unless I was wearing Cargo pants or other outdoor gear. Im going to get a case to protect it, this one is a keeper. Highly Recommended at value price.
A classic champion     On: 2008-01-19

I had one of the original champion. Its a great, although large handy thing to have on a camping trip. This new one was was too good to pass up for the price. I would recommend this knife for anybody who doesnt mind lugging a heavy useful tool. One could get a holder for it and put it on their belt and after a while, you would not even notice it.
THE Gift for the male in your life!     On: 2008-01-18

Being a woman, knives do not impress me much. For Christmas I bought two of these, one for my dad and one for my brother. You would have thought theyd won the lottery! My dad looked at it for ages, happily showing my mom and I (and everyone else who cared to listen) all the little gadgets and tools on it. My brother STILL talks about how great it is and how he uses the saw quite a lot. He has even used it for branches on a tree! Unfortunately my dad, although he carries it everywhere, just looks at it and says how great it is but doesnt want to use it because he doesnt want to mess it up (!) With so many little gadgets (pen, tweezers, saw, magnifying lens, fish hook -thingy, etc.)it was quite a hit, so I would recommend it to anyone looking for a gift for that special guy.

Perfectly designed and built     On: 2008-01-14

This is the best multi-tool I have ever had. It is perfectly designed, with all the tools easily accessible. The quality of this Swiss Army knife is better than I ever thought it would be.

Ive owned two Swiss Army knives in the past (little junk ones), and the quality of those were not really that great, but this Champion Plus model is incredible. You can feel the quality when you use the tools, and you know its designed to last a lifetime. And if it doesnt you know youve got a lifetime warranty to back you up.

My only complaint is not with the knife, but with the pictures provided on [...] of it. They do not show the thinkness in any of the pictures. Its thicker than it appears in the pictures, which for some people may be important. It feels fine carrying it around though.

If youre looking for a great multi-tool, I definitely recommend this one.

Handy compact knife     On: 2008-01-07

This knife was purchased for my "outdoors son" who has a multitude of knives for a variety of purposes. I was hesitant to buy this as I was concerned that it may have many features bu not do any well. I was wrong. The features are study. The knife is understandably on the heavier side. I would not recommend this as the only knife to be taken on a serious outdoor trip but for a weekend-type trip or as a supplement, its great. It also gives something to talk about around the fire...

My Grandsons love it.     On: 2008-01-02

This about the largest a pocket knife can be without being uncomfortable and has all the basic tools you could imagine. Its about the size of two cigarette lighters stuck together, and fits pretty comfortably in your average jeans pocket, even if youve got a wallet and some keys.

Some of the special points about this product: the thing actually comes with a handy little pen, which has saved me a few times when Im out somewhere and need to jot something down. Its also got a variety of sizes of screwdriver, which proved surprisingly useful--I can use this as the multitool when Im tinkering with my computer, for instance. It offers three different serrated edges (fine, rough, and smooth). In addition, the ruler measures both metric and U.S., offering an easy conversion.

Some of the cons: the smallest screwdriver is wound into the corkscrew, so that can be a slight hassle. It takes several pulling in-and-outs of the tools to loosen them once you first get it, as most of them are quite tightly held in the case, but its no trouble after a few days of decent use.

Overall, a great product, I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get a solid multitool that isnt too big.

More useful then you may imagine     On: 2007-12-28

The Victorinox Swiss Champ Plus is a very well designed multi-tool. The more you carry it, the more it will endear itself to you by proving its worth in the field as well as in the workplace or at home. At first glance some of the tools may seem superfluous, but in the long run you may very well use some of these tools even though you originally never imagined yourself being in a position that requires them. Fit and finish are first rate, as is always the case with Victorinox products. It amazes me that Victorinox is able to offer this tool at such a fantastic price while still manufacturing in Switzerland.

This tool is basically the same as the Victorinox Swiss Champ, minus the pliers. Losing the pliers gives you a tool with a considerably smaller profile which is therefore more pocketable, and as such I consider this more of a trade-off then a negative. If you plan to carry in a toolbox or glove compartment, you might very well choose the regular Victorinox Champ, while the Champ Plus will be better suited to people who prefer to carry a tool on their person at all times.

Speaking of weight and size, this is at the very limit of what I would consider pocketable. It *will* fit on a keychain, but only if you have a bare bones keyring with maybe your car key and house keys on it and not much else. If you are the type of person that carries around a hefty keyring, then you will need to choose a more compact model for your keychain (I recommend the Victorinox Farmer or Compact, if that is the case) or choose some other method of carry (such as belt sheath). The size and weight is still smaller then a Leatherman Wave or other similar plier based multi-tools, so it is definitely small enough to carry on you if you are so inclined.

Recommended Highly:
Every guy should have one of these on his person or close by, and you *will* be the hero and save the day numerous times in your life as the months and years roll by. Take it with you to work, take it with you on dates, take it camping, take it everywhere you go (except the airport, unfortunately). Ounce for ounce, the Victorinox Champ Plus packs a huge punch. The Victorinox Champ Plus may very well become your best friend. Just give it a chance and carry it on you for 30 days, and you might wonder how you ever got along without one.

*Alternately I recommend the Leatherman Wave or Leatherman Charge TTi if you specifically want a multi-tool with a one hand opening blade, or a pliers based multi-tool.

Pros:
-Value for the money
-Fit and Finish
-Encourages ingenuity and problem solving
-Useful and numerous assortment of tools in a small package
-Workplace/people friendly (not as likely anyone will accuse you of carrying a weapon versus a dedicated knife)
-Lifetime Warranty

Cons
-Size and weight are at the upper limit of what I consider comfortable pocket size
-No one hand opening or locking blades
-No included belt sheath for those who prefer that over keychain or pocket carry

I was trying to find something to get my boyfriend that he would enjoy that was not an electronic...When he decided to become a troop leader for the BoyScouts and talking about camping I figured this would be perfect!! It turns out it is, it is just what he wanted, and he loves all the little gadgets. My man is happy, I am especially happy!! GREAT BUY!

Indispensible classic!     On: 2007-12-15

This is the second Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus that I have owned over a period of some 40 years. The only negative thing I can say about it is that it has "legs", it will "walk away unless guarded jealously, which is what happened to my previous purchase. There are so many special purpose tools included in this tiny but high-quality package, I never thought that I would find a use for some of them. But living with it in my pocket, I thought of it whenever an unusual task presented itself, and by this time I have tested all of its features "on the job". Every tool performs as advertised! Well worth the price!
Wath can i say its a Victorinox!     On: 2007-12-10

If you are going to buy one off thise, you are not going to find surprices. the same good quality from ever!
Great value     On: 2007-12-01

I recently purchased this knife here to replace a Victorinox Super Tinker which I had lost. Interestingly I found the other knife right after ordering this one.

For the price this knife is an incredible value. It is about $17 less than the Champ and the only thing it lacks that the Champ has is the pliers which you are better off using a Leatherman pliers for.

For a knife that has just about everything but is still small enough to carry it has all you need. And it has the Victorinox quality. If there is any downside at all it is a bit large to carry in the pocket. If you need more than this knife has buy a toolbox. My last Swiss Army knife I had I have owned for over 12 years. I wonder how long I will be able to keep this one. If I take care of it I can pass it on to my grandchildren. If you were looking for a Christmas present with value for someone who likes this stuff this is an incredible buy. Why women dont carry these in their purse more often I dont know. I guess its just not ladylike to carry a knife. The women I know who do use them all the time.
Priced right, made good

It is amazing that a pocket knife can be priced like this while packet with all the tools. This is one of the best.
It worked when i got it... and it still works!!     On: 2007-11-28

I have used this in so many projects. Unfortunately I have yet to use it in a life threatening situation, but Im sure itd do just fine!
compact, very versatile, good build     On: 2007-11-21

Amazingly compact considering around 30 tools it packs; the range of these tools is great - from basic knife & pen to saw. Quality is second to none. Very happy with the product. For a little more money, one could get the next version in Champion series that includes pliers.

I love this     On: 2007-11-17

I wanted to get this since a long time! The plastic holder was broken but I did not want to go through the hassle to get a replacement. I think Amazon sent me an open box item.
It is a great product and very handy. I use it all the time.
I really dont need so many tools, and it is a little bulky, probably I should get a smaller "pocket edition" as well!
If you want a Swiss Army Knife, this is the one to buy.     On: 2007-11-10

My teenager has been asking for one of these knives since watching my Macgyver DVDs. He thinks he will be able to escape any situation with this knife and I think he just might be right.

It is the highest quality knife of this type on the market, I have a knockoff I bought on EBay where the screwdriver bent on first use. This one will not.

I got this for under $30.00 on Amazons deal of the day a while back and consider it my buy of the year.

You will not be disappointed even if you pay full price.
Excellent item and good delivery     On: 2007-11-09

We have had a couple of "multi-purpose tools," but this one has so many and is still very compact. We were a little disappointed that this particular one does not have the pliers/wire cutters in the manual that accompanied it, but its a great item!
High quality knives.     On: 2007-10-05

Definitely a fun knife to carry. The Victorinox brand has stayed true to its quality with this knife. Whether working around the garage or out on the trail, this knife can be your best friend. The tool that pushed me to purchase a couple of these knives is the magnifying glass. As I get older, it seems that to come in handy. It also brings back thoughts of starting campfires as a scout.
good thing     On: 2007-10-05

Its good enough for me,I really like it very much.
Everybody shuod chose this I think.
Fantastic     On: 2007-09-11

In the days of ubiquitous backpacks, purses, and computer bags, its super easy to carry around one of these "larger" Swiss Army knives. The Champion Plus is my favorite model, and Ive had 3 of them before this one. Interesting observation about this one: the screwdriver and phillips head seem to be designed to more stay more securely in the perpendicular position.
Nifty Gifty     On: 2007-09-02

Ignore the part of the title that says, "Gifty." I didnt use it as a gift. It was simply too "Nifty" so I just kept it.

This is a sweet multitool! Swiss really packed some great tools into this set (which Im not going to reiterate, you can read them from the description). Whichever service you intend for this product, the Champion Plus has a tool that will work. However I misunderstand why the Plus version is minus pliers from the regular Champion.

But overall a very versatile gadget.
Excellent Product     On: 2007-09-02

I am swiss army knife user for more than 10 years. To me, Swiss Army Knife has a 2nd meaning: Top Quality in the World. I never use other brand knife now.
This Champion Plus is excellent, powerful enough for regular daily use.
Highly recoomended: You Will Like It!
A Retired Classic!     On: 2007-08-13

This is a classic Swiss Army knife that was retired and has been out-of-production for 20+ years. In my opinion, this is the best of the larger Swiss Army knives ever produced.

The Victorinox Swiss Army Champion Plus was at one time the largest, combining the classic Champion with the hook, chisel, pen, straight pin and mini screwdriver. It is very large, but not absurdly so like the now-reigning SwissChamp. Dont be confused by other reviewers--the Champion Plus does not have the pliers like the SwissChamp. I feel this makes it the perfect size and weight for a large Swiss Army knife.

The only difference between this and the one I had as a kid is the plastic around the magnifying glass is now clear instead of gray as pictured.

Im very pleased to have found a Champion Plus to replace the one I lost years ago. Highly recommended if you are looking for a large Swiss Army Knife!
Great knife! Just watch out for Amazon's Customer Service...     On: 2006-01-17

Id had a Swiss Army knife for years that stupid me forgot to remove from my baggage, and was confiscated at the airport a year ago. So, in shopping for a new one, I found this beauty on Amazon.com.

But what an ordeal it was to finally get it from them!

Buyer beware: Amazon.com has great prices and shipping rates, but you may want to plan to purchase your items at any time but the height of gift-buying or gift-giving season. Between this item and the other two that I ordered simultaneously, Ive ended up having to send Amazon ten emails, and place eighteen calls. So Ive had to contact Amazon TWENTY EIGHT TIMES to get everything processed properly! This included one call in which I spent, literally, fifteen minutes calmly trying to convince an agent in India that I needed to speak to a supervisor for further assistance (and the supervisor DID turn out to give me the help Id needed), and another call where, in the midst of calmly explaining everything that had happened so far with my order, another supervisor in India simply hung up on me. I know the difference between calmly, and angrily, explaining something. Ive found that normally, "calmly" is the way to go, but I guess some times nothing will help, if the customer service department simply doesnt have it together...

When I finally received the knife, I noticed that it mustve come to me as a return, since one of the plastic casing sides had a few abraded areas, which wouldnt be the case with a brand new item...

Either way, its a GREAT knife, and worth every penny that you might spend on it! If youre thinking about a fully loaded Swiss Army knife, and really have no use for those pliers (as I dont), dont think twice! Just buy it!

Great for the botanist/biologist as well as the handyperson     On: 2005-12-08

I like this particular Swiss army knife because it has a bit more than the standard knife. As a botanist and biology teacher, the hand lens has been used many a time to examine detail on a moss or beetle. The saw is great for camping, as well as collecting specimens. Additionally, you have all the basic handy gadgets you need on a knife: screwdrivers, scissors, nail file, tweezers, etc, as well as your basic, essential knife blade. Ive had one of these for over 25 years, and have used it on five continents and for a hundred picnics. My only complaint is that as a lefty, food/muck can get lodged in the grooves of the handle when you use the blade (e.g. cheese, bread crumbs, etc). I use the toothpick to clean it up, but a hassle nonetheless.
Very nice     On: 2005-09-07

What a great item. I wanted to get my groomsmen something different than just an engraved mug or a money clip and decided on multi-funtion tools. They just loved them. This knife is very handy to keep in a car, tackle box, whatever. It has everything you could need for hundreds of odd jobs for camping or fishing to around the house or garage. Wenger products are always high quality too.

Be careful about this purchase.     On: 2005-09-03

Swiss Army Champion Plus which is not as good as the plain Swiss Army Swiss Champ Pocket Knife but is priced at $17 less. I had previously purchased the Swiss Army Champion Pocket Knife which has a pair of minipliers that work as well as the usual hemostats for fishing. That is the only difference that I can see between the two models. Given that gold handled hemostats are available for under $5 at most fishing stores that would make this the better buy but this is not the top of the line that the name implies. So 4 stars for this Swiss Army Swiss Champ Plus and 5 stars for the Swiss Army Swiss Champ Pocket Knife.
I always wondered what the hook thing is for on the other side of the knife from most of the other blades. After a little research I found it is for carrying stringed packages or grocery bags and really converts the knife into a comfortable carrying handle instead of having it feel like youre losing a finger at a knuckle.
If you've longed for a SwissChamp but hated the price.......     On: 2005-09-02

Get this Knife! The Only difference is the lack of pliers. What good are pliers that size anyway?

Very heavy. Hard to open and figure out. But its got everything you would ever need. They need to get rid of them cork screws!! Who ever uses them anyways!
Too heavy and too hard to open     On: 2005-08-12

This item is very heavy = no one would want to carry it around in pants pocket or any where else. Items so hard to get out that I cant get all of them opened as I have problems with my aging hands.
It's a 'tool-in-pocket'     On: 2005-08-09

Very nice and handful tool set. I use it a lot to handle simple repairings. I believe one day I will save my life by it if I meet an accident...
Awesome Knife/Tool     On: 2005-06-22

I really like all the features of this Swiss Army Knife. It was affordable and really has a lot of useful tools. Some tools not mentioned above packed into this knife include:

Needle (near the corkscrew)
Micro Small Screwdriver within the corkscrew
metal saw
wood saw

These things come in really handy in the tackle box or glove compartment in the car. They also really work well hiking/backpacking/camping or unpacking or whenever a quicktool is needed.

A great knife at a great value with a great warranty.
