Maglight anyone?     On: 2004-01-04

I bought mine at a day after thanksgiving sale. Ya...I woke up and got in line for the 6am opening. Saw this item on sale (white led) and my cousin said it was a great deal. Bought it and loved it ever since. Gave my mini mag to my daughter to play with. Bought the camping version for my girlfriend since the recent heavy storms blacked out her neighborhood so she used mine that night. What a lifesaver. Also order 2 more turbo torches too.
What kind of battery does it take?     On: 2003-09-23

Coast has an unfortunate habit of not including battery type in their product descriptions, perhaps because their products dont take standard AA, AAA, C or D cells. Based upon another description, this one apparently takes N cells. An earlier version that I bought took two C123 (camera) batteries.

The blue lights are beautiful, but not beautiful enough to justify the additional cost and trouble.

Nice Bright Light Falls Short on Quality     On: 2003-06-23

I purchased this light for my son when camping with the BSA. On his first trip the rubber "On/Off" switch fell out and was lost. The nylon case faired no better and is now useless. He has taken many lights with him on camping trips. This is the only one that has failed so miserably. If you are looking for German Quality, look somewhere else.

nice, but hard to use button     On: 2003-05-13

great little light, but I find the button on the side hard to use accurately, seems like I always have to press it 3 or 4 times before I do it "just right", its very finicky.

Mini Maglite Replacement     On: 2003-04-06

I use this precision machined flashlight on the night shift because the "white" light accurately replicates fluorescent lighting for medical color code definition and contrast.

Touch the on/off switch for instant on or push down for lock click on. Fits into a RiPoff CO-7 utility clip-on holster and is an excellent replacement for the AA size Min-Maglite. Uses three N type batteries which are a bit more obscure than AA...but go find rechargeable NMH batteries/recharger and yer set!

Bright light in a small package     On: 2003-03-04

One of the reasons I got this light is because of its LED technology. LEDs are supposed to have longer bulb life and extend battery life by drawing less current.

The light is pretty bright for its size.

Pluses: small, bright light

Minuses: blue light takes getting used to, on/off button is too small for easy operation. Probably good for "raves".

The blue light takes getting used to, especially at night. I use it to walk the dog, and its difficult to see exactly what is on the ground because of the blue light (instead of a white light). The blue light is easier on the eyes than white, so it might be better for "night vision" use or map reading so as to not distract the drivers vision.

If I buy another one, Id get the white bulbs.
