![]() Eagle Creek Comfort Neck Pillow By: Eagle Creek Average Rating: 4.0 Total Reviews: 27 More Information Comfortable and portable As someone with chronic back/neck pain, Im quite pleased with this product. I purchased 3 before a flight to Mexico due to the positive reviews here at Amazon. They really do only require 2-3 breaths in order to inflate! The removable/washable covers are soft and comfortable. I have no interest in ever owning another memory foam or buckwheat neck pillow - theyre simply not made for travel. If you are looking for a great neck pillow that wont take up much room in your carry-on or suitcase, this is absolutely the one to get. Not pleased with this neck pillow! This pillow was very uncomfortable. I gave it away while on a long flight with a group going to Asia. I borrowed some one elses that was not an inflatable and it was much more comfortable. I thought this would be great due to the lack of space it would require when flat. Wrong move on my part. Will buy a cheaper-prefilled cushion like the one I borrowed, next trip. Sprung leaks I bought two of these less than a year ago and both have sprung leaks along the seam and have been thrown away. excellent I bought and tried this pillow for the first time. I was able to sleep quite comfortably on my flight. It blew up in three puffs. Neck Pillow This pillow seemed to work best for leaning side to side as opposed to leaning back in my seat. Not sure why. But I did find it very comfortable on my 6 hour flight. Its very easy to inflate and deflate. Good for Long Flights I have used this pillow on several 20+ hour flights and I was quite satisfied. I though it was uncomfortable at first, but that was because I had over-inflated the pillow. After letting out a bit of the air, I found it to be quite comfortable. Whether you tilt your head back or to the side, the pillow is soft and supportive. I especially like it because you can deflate and easily stow it when you are not using it. It's not that great! I looked at several travel pillow reviews and this pillow outranked them all. It is a very light and durable pillow for a good price, but it is not comfortable. It is extremely easy to blow up and deflate, but still not very comfortable. My father bought a pillow from Bed, Bath, and Beyond for $12 and it was much more comfortable than this one. In the end, nothing beats a nice comfy fleece jacket that you can smoosh and contort. If you must buy a travel pillow then I recommend going to a store and trying it out. Thanks and I wish you better luck than I had. A great deal, and fantastic flying companion. This unit is excellent. I have used it for 8 months so far on several trips to Asia (from US). It allows you to sleep in a position that will not cause neck strain. It also keeps you in a fairly upright position in your seat so you can sleep comfortably - this is because you are not susceptible to falling over when you fall asleep. It folds very easily into its self contained pocket and can be carried in a laptop bag. Excellent neck pillow This pillow is very well made, very quick and easy to inflate and deflate and feels nice and soft against your skin. It is exactly as it was described in the details. Unfortunately, it doesnt really suit me. I found it pushed my head too far forward at the back, so I had to deflate it a little bit, and it made me too hot - although that particular flight was a bit hot in general. I think I would prefer one that is flat at the back of the neck and just inflated at the sides... Otherwise, if this is the style you like, it is the perfect pillow. I think its just a case of personal preference, really. Great for planes and hotel to prevent neck pain The material is soft and fleecy and it folds into fourths and tucks into a built-in pocket. It blows up quickly in a few breaths. On the plane, it does a good job preventing your head from falling over too much when you blow the pillow up pretty fully. At home, I have a special chiropractic pillow which provides provides a good angle for my neck and head which eliminates neck pain, headaches, and reduces my mild sleep apnea. The pillow has a concave area for my head to rest in it with support for my neck. Unfortunately, it takes too much room in a suitcase and normal hotel pillows cause me bad neck pain and headaches. My chiropractor recommended my using a neck pillow as a bed pillow for when I traveled. It works great!!!!! No neck pain! I blow it up a lot less than for the plane, so I have just a little support under my neck. I sleep with my neck against the bottom of the "U" and my head cradled between the legs of the "U," just pull them open a bit. It is a really handy, convenient, small pillow. I get twice as much use out of my pillow and the bright blue color helps me remember to take it off the bed so I dont leave it there. The compact pillow size might not work as well for this. I love my Eagle Creek pillow and would get another! Too much neck pressure I bought the Eagle-Creek inflatable pillow for air travel. It seemed to be well made with excellent inflation valve. However, the two arms that support the neck come together (within 1 inch of each other) and this squeezes the front of the neck. As a cardiologist, I am wary of anything compressing the anterior neck. Depending on the individuals anatomy, this can compress the jugular veins or, more serious yet, press on the carotid bodies which can cause a fall in blood pressure and evn fainting. I recommend a minor re-design such that the pillow makes a U shape - open in front, rathen than constricting around the neck. My Must Have on a Plane This is the best travel pillow Ive EVER used. Im one of those people that unless I have something supporting my neck as I sleep upright, Ill end up w/my mouth wide-open, followed by the inevitable snort that wakes me up to the crushing feeling of embarrassment. This pillow is great, because not only is the fleece soft and comfortable, its also removable for easy washing. Probably the best feature of this pillow, however, is the fact that its inflatable. No more lugging around bulky neck pillows in the airport. This pillow folds up into a neat little square about the size of a paper napkin, and it is easily stowed away in my carry-on. I would give it 5 stars, because I love it, but Im on my second one. Be careful not to inflate too much, or it can pop ... as I unfortunately found out on a long flight. Long story short: Best travel pillow there is. Dont blow it up too much. And if it pops? Ehh, its worth getting a new one. Good, not perfect I purchased one from REI. Seems like a good design, especially the inflator valve. It was a bit uncomfortable around my neck though - I could feel the stiff seam poking into the sides of my neck (and Im a thin guy, I dont have an unusually wide neck). So I went with the Bucky Gusto Inflatable Travel Pillow instead. That one worked out better for me. Good to go I have not flown with it yet and that is the primary purpose of this purchase. I did however, test "drive" it on a weekend road trip from Las Vegas to LA. It inflated and deflated easily and was comfy. Huge difference This pillow, while I have nothing to compare it to, made my transatlantic trip a sleepytime affair. Very nice. Slept nice. Not perfect, you have to sleep straight up, but very comfortable and supported! All that matters is the zzzs. Very good in that regard, perfect. a very comfortable and practical travel companion I purchased this pillow after reading the positive reviews...and I agree that its a great product. You can inflate it with only a few breaths and deflate it with the simple push of well-designed valve. I was impressed with how quickly and easily this could be done. The outer covering is soft and smooths out the sharp edges typical of inflatables. The covering is also designed so that you can neatly tuck the deflated pillow into itself for storage. My only qualm is that its not as compact as Id like...but Ill sacrifice that for comfort. Inflatable is definitely the way to go, as you can adjust the pillow to your comfort level. It worked well on my 19 hour flight out and my 35 hour trip home. However, it sprung a leak at the end of the return flight. Luckily, I read the other customer reviews and had bought 2 ;) The comfort is well worth the price. When youre dealing with jetlag who wants the added discomfort of neck pain! Definitely worth it!!! Comfy I was a little worried with durability after reading other reviews already posted but, Ive found nothing worrying so far. I love the nice color...its a crisp green that reminds me of the little tree frogs we have around here--and its a cozy cover. I also really like the simple design for inflation and deflation. You blow it up with about 4 deep breaths and then if its too hard/full then you gently push the little plastic flap to deflate the pillow. Itll take you about 4 uses before you figure out the exact amount of air you need for a comfy neck. The only disappointment I can find is the size of the pillow when its totally deflated. It is a little bulky with the cover left on, and would take up about the space of a regular sized paperback novel in your carry on. So, you can always take the cover off when packing and then put it back on when youre ready to use it. Ive used it to support my neck while reading in bed and was so comfy I fell asleep about 10 words in. Will not travel without this pillow! I love this pillow. The best travel pillow I have ever had! Mine is years old and has been around the world. Very comfortable and compact. I just purchsed another one for my husband. Dont leave home without it! Soft and comfy while convenient Used this on a two week trip overseas. Folded up nicely and was easy to inflate and deflate. Loved the fact I could make it as firm as desired. Slept well and not a neck pain one!! comfortable, but developes holes quickly Ive owned two of these and have given up on them. They are great when they work, but the seams develop air leaks and renders the pillow useless.. its not a fun thing to discover on the 1st leg of a 25 hour flight! look elsewhere, especially for the money! Buyer Beware I travel in the air on a weekly basis and could never find a pillow I enjoyed. Based on reputation I decided to give the Eagle Creek Neck Pillow a try. WHEN IT WORKED, it was the best travel pillow I have ever used. The fleece cover is soft and when deflated and folded into itself it made for easy storage. HOWEVER, after about two weeks the inner tube developed a hole along the crease and would no longer hold air. I patched the hole using a patch kit used for my bike tires. Fortunately the patched hole is still holding strong but yet another hole has developed along the crease of the inner tube. If they improve the liner I would recommend this product; otherwise look elsewhere. Buyer Beware I travel in the air on a weekly basis and could never find a pillow I enjoyed. Facing a 12 hour flight to Europe, I bought this pillow at the airport with the outside hope it might help me catch some zs. Its the only reason I got some sleep. When I awoke, the pillow was still full of air thanks to the brilliant valve design. Meanwhile, my husbands old school, beach ball valve pillow was almost flat. soft and comfy Bought this pillow for a long trip. Gave good support while trying to catch some z. The fleece cover is very soft on the face and neck. It is easy to blow up and deflate. When not in use, the deflated pillow is compact and easy to store in luggage. Eagle Creek always rules. soft and easy to pack This is the best travel neck pillow I ever bought. Its small packable and very comfy with the soft fabric on the outside. On top of that, you can actually wash the fabric by separating it from the blow-up part. I buy all my relatives who like to travel one of these in future! great product! I have never been able to sleep on a plane/bus while traveling. I purchased this for my trip to France and I actually slept comfortably. It is soft and prevented my neck from getting cramped and uncomfortable. It also folds down small enough for a purse or even a coat pocket. Im buying another for my husband for our trip to the Netherlands! Highly recommended. Also blows up VERY easy. One puff! Ive never tried on of these products so I have nothing to compare it to-so 4 stars. But I do not feel compelled to look elsewhere. Another Great Eagle Creek Product Eagle Creek makes great products for traveling. If you travel, you really should do yourself a favor and check out the selections they have. This pillow does the trick in helping you get comfortable on the plane. Very easy to inflate, adjust and deflate so it is easy to manage and take with you. It is worthwhile to have if you find yourself having trouble sleeping on a plane. I Hate Long Car Rides... and Id just as soon sleep through them. The big problem was getting comfortable. When I was able to nap, Id wake up with a miserable aching neck and a disposition to match. My neck pillow has made all the difference. Aside from helping me sleep comfortably, it provides excellent support while Im awake. Because it deflates so easily and takes almost no room to pack, its also ideal for long plane rides. I wont leave home without it! |
