Excellent light switch     On: 2004-07-12

This tactical flashlight is about the same brightness as Streamlight Scorpion, and it it also about the same size. As the body of the light is somewhat thinner, and the bezel slightly larger than in other flashlights of similar size, the light has a peculiar appearance. The body is silver colour, and has a matt finish. There is a thick rubber-like sleeve around the body of the flashlight that enables a firm grip, even with wet hands.

The light beam is very even, with bright dot on center, and the beam is otherwise free of any rings or dark spots. The light beam is not adjustable. As mentioned earlier, the light beam is of same brigthness as Scorpion, making the beam bright enough for most purposes, even if it is not the brightest flashlight around.

The most interesting feature of this flashlight is the light switch: It is located in the tailcap, as in other tactical flashlights of comparable size. What makes this flashlight unique is that the flashlight has both momentary and constant light switches, but they are built in the same light switch. You depress the light switch the normal way with the pad of your thumb to get momentary light, and for constant light, you have to press the light with the tip of the thumb. That way, you can choose between the two modes, without risk of accidentally putting the light into constant on mode when your intention was to use the momentary switch.

As for the durability for the light, I have owned the light for too short period to make any estimations. The company advertises the light as water- and impact resistant.
