We have a lot of fun with our Old Fashioned snow cone maker. It has never given us a problem and makes sno-cones just like the carnivals used to. On: 2005-08-04
After hours of trying to get some shaved ice from this machine I gave up. It simply has no way of pushing the ice down to the blade in order to shave the ice. I have thrown this useless machine in the trash.
There are two positive reviews for this item, and I suspect they were written by employees of the company selling these machines, not honest reviewers. On: 2004-10-04
This is a great machine for in-home use. I had a pool party and made so many snow cones, I thought my fingers were going to freeze off!!
I havent had any problems with this machine at all. I really like the fact that you can use regular ice cubes for shaving. Just buy a large bag of ice from the market, fill the ice shute, turn the machine on, and get to it!!
With all of the different flavors on the market (try Hawaiianshavedice.com) you will have many tasty treats.

I recieved this for my birthday and I love it. About 10 cubes makes two cones. Mine came with the little plastic cups. This is also good if you want to add ice to your drink. Sometimes if it stops shaving unplug it then take a paper towel and wipe where the ice shavings come out then plug back in and have at it. Sometimes the cold from the ice can make the blades freeze alittle thats why you sometimes have to wipe them off. You have to have the lid on and turned to the left for it to work so safe to use. Dosent seem like any rinky dink toy does real good job. Not supposed to use more then five minutes at a time though so you dont burn up the motor. But no kiddin this shaves like powder snow.
