![]() Wenger Ticino Rectangular Sleeping Bag By: Wenger Average Rating: 3.0 Total Reviews: 6 More Information comfy for shorter people - not all it's supposed to be My 6"5 fiance bought this sleeping bag for himself since it was supposed to be 86" tall. Im not sure who measured the bag, but the specs are wrong. Im 59" and its a great size for me. Its very cozy with the hood drawn tight. They also say that there is a sheet liner in the bag, but thats not accurate either. A liner means it LINES the bag. This "liner" is more like half of a liner. As someone else mentioned, it would be nice if this were a real liner so that it could be washed and the bag would stay cleaner, longer. I feel that the "liner" is easy to accidentally unzip, so I can imagine it bunching up at the bottom of the bag after a nights sleep (I havent slept in it yet). I think the detachable hood is a nice feature. Ive never had a mummy bag, so it will be nice to sleep in my bag without wearing a hat on my head to keep warm. Im very cold-natured, so once I do use this thing (it will get down to freezing this weekend when I use it) I wont be a good judge of how well its temp rating is. The bag comes with a stuff sack, but you cant stuff this sleeping bag like you can nicer bags. This bag has to be rolled tight to fit in its "stuff" sack. However, it can be accomplished with minimal difficulty (easier than putting a tent back in its bag!). Good Child's Sleeping Bag Pros: The price I paid for these sleeping bags for my two children ($29.99 each) was a great value. The exterior fabric is nice and it has a great stuff bag with a carrying handle. It rolls up small and compact. The "mummy" top can be sinched up to create a hood on cold nights. Cons: The polyester fabric on the inside is cold in cold weather. When the weather is hot, it doesnt breath, so it becomes very uncomfortable. The zip out sheet SOUNDS like a great idea, but its very flimsy and with my children it just ends up being kicked down to the bottom of the sleeping bag. If I had it to do all over again, I would buy a sleeping bag that had a cotton interior. That is the major drawback with this bag. The fabric makes all the difference on how warm/cool you stay at night and this interior just doesnt meet the muster. This bag was claimed as 25F rating and the "linen" itself rated at 60F. That was totally unrealistic! The linen was so thin that it was hardly useful at any temperature. You wouldnt feel any difference with or without it alone. I was using the bag with the linen inside my car on a road trip. My feet started to get cold, keeping me up at only as low as 50F. That was far above 25F as claimed. I am in 40 and good health, not a "cold" person. If this bag would not work for me under 50F, it would not work for most others either. If you actually count on this bag for 25F environment, you are putting youself in great danger. Dont believe the rating! It is only good for mild temperature. From an occasional camper First off, this sleeping bag is unique. I havnt seen other brands with these features. Well, the quality of this sleeping bag is good. The zippers work fine for me. Im sure that they are not as good as the Colman type but they still work just fine. The bag rolls up small enough and is light weight. It includes a very nice stuff bag (I dont think the discription mentions it). I really like the additional piece at the head. It keeps your pillow off the ground. It is dettachable but Im not sure why anyone would take it off. The cotton sheet is nice but I wish it had a top and bottom. That way you could just wash the sheet and not the entire bag every use. The interior of the bag is polyester. Although it is comfortable I wish it were cotton. The bag is certainly roomy enough. Probably not the best bag for really cold weather. But I plan on using a liner or throw another blanket over the top. That should do it. My kids are going to use it for sleep overs and the zippered sheet works great for that. You can fold the top cover under the bag for aditional ground padding when just using the sheet cover. From an occasional camper First off, this sleeping bag is unique. Cons: Theres no way this thing measures 86" long. They must have stretched it to measure. Im 64" and I thought this would be great - the main bag is less than 6 long and with the pillow attachment, it might be 68" You cant combine 2 sleeping bags to make a larger one. For whatever reason, the decided to put the place where the zippers start in the middle of the bottom of the bag and combining the bags produces a lumpy mess. Comfortable, but... Pros: Comfortable. I bought it for my 13-year-old son who is 59" for a casual retreat his church organization is having. It is actually sized for an adult with a lot of room and chushioning. Great value. |
