Great for Toddlers too!     On: 2007-12-01

My son is 2 and refuses to use a sippy cup. This bottle with the straw he will use - its great because its spill proof. He can carry it around and sit on the couch without a mess. I need to get a 2nd one soon.
Best children's water bottle we have     On: 2007-11-15

We have had this bottle for over a year now and it is virtually spill proof*. My 6 yr old son has a slight neurological disorder that comes with some sensory issues. One of these is that he will only drink liquids if they are ice cold. He will go without no matter how thirsty he is if the water isnt cold enough for him, so no drinking fountains. I have bought many different types of water bottles for him to take to school. This, by far, is his favorite because of how well it maintains its temperature. Oftentimes it will come back with ice still chinking around inside. He also always has to have a water bottle with him at bedtime. I often find it lying on its side in the bed next to him without it getting the sheets or my son wet.

*The only problem we have had is occasionally the seal will fall out of the lid in the dishwasher. The seal is a rubber ring (ours is blue) that fits into a circular groove on the inside of the lid. When the lid is in place it presses against the lip of the bottle making a tight seal. It has fallen out about 3 times now in the past 1 1/2 years. Each time I didnt realize until after I filled it and put the cap on. Without that seal it spills like a sieve! Luckily I always place the lid in the utensil basket, so I was able to easily retrieve the seal and replace it in the lid. I really dont consider this an issue since Ive always been able to quickly remedy it, however I wanted to mention this because it might be something to check out for those who are having spilling problems. If its missing, you might want to call their customer service and see if you can get a replacement.
the best for everyday     On: 2007-11-05

Im a mom of a child that has to drink Pediasure (a milk like fortified product). Ive tried 4 other types of sippy cups before finding these and they are by far the BEST. His pediasure stays cold for hours and we have never had a problem with leaking (my son is 2 1/2) and does drop it or throw it from the back seat. They clean easily and have no valves to have to assemble. I love this product and will continue to buy them.
You CAN get replacement parts!     On: 2007-10-30

After buying 4 of these b/c the straw tip kept tearing (finally discovered my child was CHEWING on them, grrrr), I sent an email to Thermos through their website and pleaded with them for replacement parts. They emailed me back with their customer service number: 1-800-831-9242. I ordered four new sets of straws (the inside straw and straw tip are packaged together) for $7.
Funtainer beverage bottle     On: 2007-10-27

I bought a funtainer beverage bottle for my 6-yr old to use. I must have gotten a defective product because it just keeps on leaking even the bottle is only half full. I am disappointed to say that it had to be returned.
Thermos funtainer     On: 2007-09-24

I was excited when I found this beverage container. I have used many types of containers to hold milk for my children for lunch, (all of which I hated, or leaked or were too big, etc. I purchased two funtainers and found that it works excellent. It doesnt leak. I found them at Staples when I was purchasing school supplies. I hesitated at the price, $14.99 but bit the bullet and purchased them. They only had one style to choose from. I have noticed that the cover to one doesnt fit the other. (That could be the reason for it to leak). However, it hasnt leaked and weve used it for three weeks now. My children reported to me that it does keep their milk cold. The other reason I purchased these Thermos funtainers was because they included an extra straw. The care and use instructions found inside this beverage container listed a number at thermos 1-800-831-9242 for replacement straws. Milk at my childrens school costs, .60 cents a milk carton. 60 cents a day adds up, I will be saving $100.00 minus the 14.99 price for the container. That is a big savings. Just follow the care and use instructions and you should have no problem. This is a great beverage container.
Can not find replacement parts     On: 2007-09-04

This thermos works well and would be a long-lasting product. However, they do not sell replacement parts for the straw assembly. Our straw tip (tiny rubber piece) has torn and the thermos is now unusable. It seems ridiculous to throw away a $15 item over a 5 cent missing part.
Great drinking cup!!     On: 2007-04-25

My boy loves his drinking funtainer! It has never spilled on his lunch box even though I have put it in different positions including upside down! It it great because we can take it on a car ride and it will NOT spill all over the car if he drops it and it will keep his milk cold and even warm chocolate hot! The straw that pops up when you open the lid is a plus and I have not had to replace it and the year is almost over!! Very durable. I love it and Im planning to buy more! It is well worth the money... and I bought it for $15.00!!

not spill proof     On: 2007-04-21

this item will keep drinks cold but it is fine if you have it in the car in a cup holder for long trips but if you intend it for a child to take to school it spills all over their lunch box
