 Columbia Sportswear UPF 30 + Booney By: Columbia Sportswear Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 2 More Information Excellent summer hat  On: 2006-10-24There are so many great things about this hat: 1) The brim is thick and tightly woven, thus it really blocks the sunlight very well, much better than almost any fabric hats on the market (but since it is nylon, the thickness doesnt really add bulkiness or weight). 2) The part that touches your head is made of thin material, very comfortable, doesnt trap heat, and wickers your sweat away. 3) I absolutely love the fact that it adjusts the size of the hat with a draw cord so that it can fit the size of your head perfectly (I had never had a perfect fit before this hat). Using the adjustable draw-cord, you can tighten the hat ever so slightly in very windy condition, and it will sit securely on your head, even without using its chin strap (I dont like chin straps in general). 4) It dries very quickly -- which is convenient after you sweat or after you are caught in the rain. 5) I often fold them up and store them in my backpack when the evening arrives or when I go indoors for a meal. It will retain its perfect shape after I open them up again. Thus, it is very convenient for travel. Some hats would lose its shape after you store them in a backpack. But this hat is just perfect. 5) It is really easy to wash so you dont have to throw them away after they get soiled by your sweat. I absolutely enjoy wearing fresh-smelling clean hats that you can wash. Good hat  On: 2005-04-21I got this hat because I was sick of putting on sunblock all the time. Its nice to know that i can grab something and go and still get UV protection. Pros: - UPF 30+ - really light weight - foldable/compactable - bungee cords keep hat on Con: - the terry on the inside rim make my forehead sweat a lot (its polyester) |
