These are the classic Jaguar of lighters. They work great with a very directional flame but they do not last very long. The hinge spring, the opening lever and the coil all fail. If they didnt have a lifetime warranty, they would struggle to make one star.

Loved this lighter. Worked in high winds on the golf course every time. Left out 5th star because the coil broke off after two years of use. Looking for a new one.

This lighter will definitely light stuff on fire. It does not have a large flame, so if you expect to light a stove from 5 inches away, it wont work for you.
It will light even in the highest of winds, and the self heating coils will not go out. It has a rugged design and you can easily tell how much fuel is left in the lighter.
Personally, I would rather get a Zippo in retrospect but it definitely serves my purpose.

I opened my silver box with much anticipation. I needed a reliable fire source for hiking as I do not smoke. I found that I could only get reliable ignition with the butane turned very low. I tried to light some paper without success. If you smoke, this may work very well but if you need it for lighting stoves etc., it might not be the best choice.
