Its design is also compact making storage and portability a major positive consideration. I bought this item for my 84 y.o. mother for her emergency respone kit (which everyone should have as part of their Homeland Defense supplies). Just the week before this purchase a major water line burst denying the entire community water for several days. Didnt need it this time, but who knows about the next emergency? Sure, the money spent could have purchased several cases of bottled water, but try lugging that water around if you need to move--impossible for the elderly. We feel much safer now knowing that water can be obtained and purified from almost any source. Pricey, yes, but worth it considering the alternatives. No, I do not work for or own stock in Katadyn. :-) Filtered water bottle  On: 2008-03-19I really appreciate this product, and the piece of mind it gives me. I know its designed for campers, but I use it at work. I was really tired of buying bottles of water, but being pregnant I just couldnt trust the tap water. With the water in D.C. being found to contain all sorts of chemicals and pharmaceutical, its nice to have a way to get decent water when Im out. The only reason Im giving this four stars instead of five is (1) because of the large filter, it doesnt hold as much water as Id like, (2) its pricey and (3) it tends to leak sometimes when I squeeze it. Overall, Im glad to have it, but probably should have bought the next model up with a larger reservoir. Great Water Bottle On: 2008-02-12I really like this water bottle. I get sick, at times, after drinking water that may not have been too clean, but I dont when using this bottle. I used it on a cruise My Husband and I took and never got sick. I would definately recommend it to my friends and family. My only suggestion is that it should have a cover over the mouth piece (which can come into contact with anything when being carried around). Not having a mouth piece cover kinda defeats the purpose of having a filter water bottle. water purifier bottle On: 2007-11-04We used this bottle on a trip to Asia. It was easy to use. We can not vouch for the effectiveness, but we had no ill effects from the water that was filtered by the bottle. |
