![]() Expedition XL Cot By: The Sportsman's Guide Average Rating: 2.5 Total Reviews: 2 More Information This is a gentle use item I found that the brackets where the cot sections open and close are constructed of a light gage metal and they bend easily, which makes it easy to bend them back. While this item is serviceable extra care must be taken in setting up and putting away. This is an item best used on very level ground as the cot sways under you when placed on an incline. Makes a great fold away bed for unexpected guests in your home. Despite the companies claims this bed in no way is even close to Mil. Specifications. I have kept mine for my ten year old son to use. I love it! But measure your tent before you order it! Im a scout leader, and I bought this cot two years ago because I was tired of sleeping on the cold, hard, damp ground, And my standard size cot crumpled under my bearlike mass. I decided to go for the 400-plus lb. Guide Gear Expedition XL cot. I am 62" and 250 lbs, so I had to get one to support my weight and height. This cot covers those requirements very well. It is easy and quick to set up. It is comfortable to sleep on, giving me lots of room. The cot folds down to a rather large 4 foot by one foot storage mode, but my foam sleeping pad and pillow fit easily inside its water-resistant carrying bag with the cot. Its size, however, is also a bad thing. The scouts in my troop have had many a laugh at my expense while I attempted to set it up inside one of our scout tents 7 x 7 or smaller. If you are able to get it inside your tent in its collapsed state, you will need extra height and length to unfold it once inside. FYI, it fits well in our old Coleman 10x10. Weve also used it to accommodate overnight guests, and it has performed quite well in that regard. Overall, this is a good, large, sturdy cot. Make sure your tent is big enough for it. I love it!
