Great for narrow feet, no break-in     On: 2008-01-26

I wore these boots for a month in Israel averaging a little less than ten miles a day hiking and walking around cities with no break-in period, and I had no blisters. Ive used these walking on knife-edge rocks in the wilderness, slippery stone streets in Jerusalem, swampy areas, intense hikes, and Ive run down Mt. Sinai and Mt. Arbel in the Galilee. The latter two areas have rocks strewn all across the path, and I would have rolled my ankle several times if it werent for the strength of the uppers.

Note: This particular years model (with the yellow stripe) runs narrower than the current model (orange and brown). I wear a size 14B dress shoe and these yellow-stripe boots were perfect.

Complaint: I might be wrong, but the footbed that comes with the boot might not be antibacterial. Then again, my feet sweat a lot, so maybe its just me.
Wide Boot?     On: 2008-01-23

I tried on both the medium width boot and wide width boot. The medium width was too narrow for me, but the wide seemed to be the same width, just more volume. I have low volume feet, so this did not work for me. If you have wide feet, dont assume they will fit.
POOR QUALITY---NO WARRANTY     On: 2007-08-04

I loved these boots. That is until I used them. After about 2 weeks of use dirt had become impacted between the layers. I could no longer wear the boots. I figured this was clearly a defect. The boots were sent to Vasque where they assured me that this was supposed to happen. My guess it that they think people will keep buying new pairs of $140 boot. Diabolical Vasque. What a business Model. I learned my lesson. I will never buy another pair of Vasque boots as long as i live, and I will try as I might to dissuade other from making the same mistake I made. Thanks for your time. Please dont make the same mistake I made. Thanks Dont buy Vasque products they will not last you more then 2 weeks (possibly longer, but that is my experience)

No break-in needed!     On: 2006-10-06

Unlike most light hiking boots that Ive owned or tried on, these were the most comfortable. The soft-ish upper requires no break-in period (for me, anyway), and has not yet created any hot-spots or blisters despite miles and miles of hiking in them. Theyre waterproof (Gore-Tex), the soles are cushy and provide lots of stability even in rocky terrain. Definitely an excellent buy!
