 MSR 19' Parawing Lightweight Shelter By: MSR Average Rating: 4.0 Total Reviews: 2 More Information Awesome shelter  On: 2007-10-22The shelter itself gets five stars. The stakes and guy lines get four stars so thats why the overall rating is four. I use this shelter primarily when I take four or more people to the beach for surf fishing. Its fairly easy to set up but I would highly recommend you practice setting it up in your own yard before hand. It does a superb job of blocking the sun and rain. The stakes that come with the shelter are suitable for most types of terrain. However, if youre planning on taking it to the beach, I would recommend getting much longer and wider stakes. You have to pull this thing REALLY taut and the stakes that come with it just dont hold in the sand. I had some 15" stakes made out of angle iron specifically for the sand. The factory guy lines are suitable for most situations but if youre going to an area that is exposed to high wind, I would recommend that you replace the guy lines with something more heavy duty. Despite the stake and guy line flaws, IMO they are suitable for most terrains and conditions. I got this wing on sale and I believe I got a great deal for what I paid. If you spend a lot of time outdoors and you bring four or more people, I would highly recommend this shelter. Its very compact and light for such a big shelter. LIGHTWEIGHT AND HIGHQUALITY On: 2007-02-09This is a great item. No matter how you camp youll enjoy having this tarp along. Use it by itself for protection from rain and wind or attach it to any other tent for a wonderful sun shade/ rain/shelter.Sometimes I stake my tent under the parawing to block the morning sun from overheating me while I sleep . Much lighter and easier to set up than a standard sunshade...And when your talking about high wind this baby cant be beat..Go ahead and replace the guy lines with something stronger if you plan to encounter high wind. Thats why I gave it 4 stars and not 5 |
