Expected better low temperature peformance     On: 2008-01-29

Ive had this watch now fow a couple of years. I think you may have to be a "function" than a "style" person to wear this watch for it is truly a "sporting watch" and dont think you can be comfortable with it in an office or dress-casual setting. It does portrude out and it is large.

It keeps time well (to be expected from a quartz movement). The lap and lap memory works well (good for runners and endurance athletes).

The best feature of the watch: It is the easiest watch to change the battery. No special tools, no tiny screws, no bringing to the jeweler to do. It is very, very easy! The altimeter is quirky but does stay "believable" if you calibrate it before you need to use it. The pressure, altimeter and weather forcasting are based on pressure. The temperature sensor is on the bottom of the watch. So, if you wear it, it will measure your skin temperature. Otherwise, the thermometer is accurate.

My only disappointment came when I brought it skiing. I placed in an outside pocket to try to get a read on the temperature. After several minutes, the watch blanked out. Possibly due to battery? I feel certain that it was not under 20 F.

It lacks the compass but the lack of it maybe gained in longer battery life.
