Amazing buy - great for almost anything     On: 2008-09-02

We use it for bbqs, tailgating, camping, and anything you can think of.
The instant-start ignition is awesome and it has always worked great. You can usually buy 2 cans of coleman/generic brand gas at Walmart for about $5 so its definitely not costly to run it.
Great grill, but not for me.     On: 2008-08-10

As other reviewers have stated, this grill is good for burgers, dogs, and steaks when youre tailgating. I did grill some egg plant and it was ok as well. My problem is that I love to cook chicken thighs when Im camping, and it doesnt work well for that. I dont marinate them or put bbq sauce on them until Im done cooking and it doesnt make a difference except its easier to clean. It doesnt matter if you bring it up to temperature before you throw them on, and dont move them for awhile. It still sticks. Cleanup is a nightmare because its a one piece grate thats pretty large. What Ive found works better than this for camping (gas grills arent real grilling anyway) is a Lodge reversible cast iron griddle. It has a griddle on one side and a grill on the other. Its cast iron and comes pre-seasoned. Its a ton easier to clean and I actually use this Coleman grill to heat it up. Im even thinking of tossing the grill grate from this unit to lose the additional travel weight. If I were a big hot dog and hamburger eater, this unit would get 5 stars. Im more apt to cook a turkey burger, which would stick to this grill like pine sap on a hairy arm.

We have bought many portable grills, but we never had a grill that cooked like this Coleman. This grill cooks evenly and is the best for grilling steaks. We are very satisfied with this grill. We believe the name Coleman is the highest quality.
Decent Grill     On: 2007-08-13

I have this same grill but with a blue lid. This is a quality peice of hardware, it has a heavy porcelain coated cast iron grate and a grease drip pan underneath and its compact in size so you can stick it in your trunk for tailgating at concerts or ball games.

Pros:
1. Works well when its windy outside
2. Cast iron grate retains heat so it cooks evenly
3. Compact size
4. Quality build (except the slot and hook catch for the lid and
sides)

Cons:
1. Gets very messy and greasy, be sure to use aluminum foil under
the grate for easier cleaning.
2. Cant cook with the lid closed, so its really only useful for
burgers and dogs.
3. The hooks that keep the lid and sides up dont hold very well
if you bump into it, but not a huge problem.

If you are using this at tailgate parties I recommend bringing paper towels and some kind of degreaser to wipe it down, as well as a wire brush to clean the grate. Bring some kind of box or bag to store it in so you dont get grease in your trunk.

Disposable Grill     On: 2006-10-28

Terrible product. This grill lasted three uses before becoming useless. The build quality is flimsy, the piezo starter stopped functioning after the second session, the propane adapter stripped out quickly, and clean up is difficult. Fat and marinade trap easily at the bottom so flare ups are a problem. Theres no lid to deal w/ flare ups which also wastes more propane and makes cooking pretty inefficient. I wouldnt recommend grilling anything but hotdogs on this.

Great Little Grill     On: 2006-09-04

Living in Florida, I bought the Coleman 9924-750 Perfect Flow InstaStart Table Top Propane Grill for after hurricanes and the loss of power. I also bought it so I can grill on my patio. The set up is easy and clean up is quick. To ease cleanup, I line the bottom with foil and poke a hole where it drains into the grease cup. It works great.

this propaine grill is the perfect solution to food before a game. there are sheilds to block the wind which i find to be essential when making my bugers and hotdogs. it is also a perfect carrying size.
