![]() Wenzel Albany 40-Degree Rectangular Sleeping Bag (Orange and Navy Blue) By: Wenzel Average Rating: 4.0 Total Reviews: 13 More Information Sleeping bag Great for sleep overs indoors. Outside construction not durable for outdoor camping Great Bag Great Price I purchased this bag along with a Wenzel tent in March for an upcoming camping trip we had this July in 2008. Granted the weather was rainy it still maintained a 65+ degree temperature. Although one morning was particularly cold. The sleeping bag provided nice comfort great warmth. So warm actually I had to unzip it and use as a blanket. The best feature is something I have not had in a sleeping bag in a while... it was EASY to roll up and store. Definately recommend! Average Sleeping Bag This sleeping bag is completely average. Its not super durable, warm or functional, but if youre a cheap college student, like me, and you dont want to spend a lot of money, then its good. Its really thin and I would recommend using a cot or sleeping pad with it. Also, cold weather camping is not ideal with this sleeping bag. Possibly dangerous -- your response solicited When I first received and examined this sleeping bag I thought it was great -- just what I expected and very reasonably priced. However, it has a very odd characteristic that could be dangerous--and it is only noticeable in pitch-black darkness. The first night I slept in the bag I noticed strange lights. I sprang up time and again and could not figure out the source. I began to suspect something was wrong with my eyes. Finally, I discovered that when you press the lining of the bag between your hands and rub them briskly back and forth while pressing the bag between them (in utter darkness) it glows (the white color of fireflies) for a second or two after you release it from your hands. It does the same thing when rubbed between an external surface and your body. I have no idea what causes this phenomenon and would appreciate an explanation or suggestion. Is it unique to my bag? Is there a danger? What if there were combustible material nearby, such as gas fumes or gasoline? Could the energy that produces the glow ignite these fumes or is it dangerous in any other way? Other than the glow I would give the bag a five star rating and call it a great bag for the price. I plan to return the bag unless I find a satisfactory explanation. Very nice! We purchased 2 of these sleeping bags to use as "snuggle sacks" when watching t.v. in the winter time. They unzip to lay flat if you want, or can be zipped up all the way around. The size is generous, whether zipped up or unzipped. They have a silky finish inside and out and are very cuddly and warm. They wont be used outside, (no camping for me!) so cant comment on how they would work in outside weather. However, for us, they are more economical than the "cuddle" or "snuggle" sacks and actually work much better! best and cheapest slepping bags i ever bought I HAVE BOUGHT SEVERAL DIFFERENT LOW PRICED SLEEPING BAGS LOCALLY AND IN THE MAIL AND THESE ARE THE BEST AND THICKEST AND LOWEST PRICE BAGS I HAVE BOUGHT IM 100% SATISFIED AND WILL BUY MORE SOON. It is really works "40-Degree" it is true. Use it for warm nights only. We used it on last weekend September 8-9 and it was cold inside it in the morning. But this bag worth its cost. Cover material is good. You also can unzip it completely and you get square quilt: very useful. not for winter A fine, light weight summer bag. If the temp goes below 50 you will need a blanket or long johns. Good value in a summer bag. They zip together Just arrived today, I bought four, and the first thing I checked was to see if they zip together, and I was so happy to see that they did!!! They appear to be in excellent quality and the colors are much more attrative than appear online. I am so please and cant wait to take them camping this summer. Thanks for all the feedback, I was already confident these would be high quality for cheap price, thanks to previous buyers. What I was Looking For I wanted inexpensive yet warm and durable sleeping bags for when my grandkids have a sleepover at my house. These worked out perfectly. The color is nice. They are lightweight, yet warm enough so that all they need is their pillow and pjs. I just zipped each one up three quarters of the way, which worked out fine, with no kicking the covers off. They love the idea of camping out and would rather be in a sleeping bag than in a bed. Ive washed and dryed them several times, (they dried quickly) and are still in perfect condition. They roll up nicely for storage. I cant tell you how warm they would be for outdoor camping, but here in CT the house at night gets quite chilly. Each child said they did not feel cold at all. Cool Slleping Bag This was a great value. I bought two sleeping bags and a tent for less than $50.00 and my kids have been thoroughly entertained. The sleeping bags are lightweight so you may not want to take it to the mountains, but for 40 degree or warmer weather it is perfect. The material washes easily. Treat yourself and buy a tent too and let the kids imagination go wild, just make sure you spray them with bug spray, lol Good First Sleeping Bag I bought this as a first time sleeping bag for my eleven year old. He flipped over it when he first received it! He uses it for sleep overs and sometimes even when hes just sleeping at home. My son is always "hot", so the weight of this bag is just right for him. Also it has a good heavy zipper. I have washed it once and it turned out fine. Its not high quality but for the price we are very satisfied. What a great bag for the price You cant go wrong for $10 with this bag. It is rated for 40 degrees, which is perfect for spring and summer camping. Its comfortable and soft, which makes for a good nights sleep. No, it wont last forever (I think the battign will wear out after several years) but for occasional use throughout the summer and for indoor camping (the kids), its great. |
