I purchased several of these for a recent camping trip. I had been using those lousy plastic stakes as well as the U-shaped metal stakes and these giant pegs are just awesome. For the price, you just cant go wrong.
I got out to the campsite, staked down my tent, and had no problems. Some of the guidelines to hold the sides of tent out were also attached to these stakes. I had people tripping over the guidelines left and right. Bubba even knocked out a few teeth the thirty-seventh time he tripped. But that stake didnt move! After being tripped over so many times, I was amazed that it was still in the ground firmly.
Later, I was grilling and I needed a light. I decided to drive one of these huge bastages into a tree so I could hang my lantern. I drove it about 4 inches in and it held the weight of my lantern perfectly well. We jabbed another stake into a treet across from this one and hung a steel cable between them to be used as a clothesline. Later, I tried to pull them out and they wouldnt come free. I even tried to pop one out by putting all 500 pounds of my weight on the steel cable. The cable broke and I ended up squirming around like a morbidly obese turtle on his back, but the stakes stayed firm in those trees.
If you need to stake down a tent, hang a clothesline, crucify a messiah, or kill a vampire, these are the stakes for you!
