![]() Therm-a-Rest Luxury Camp (Regular) By: Therm-A-Rest Average Rating: 5.0 Total Reviews: 5 More Information Recommended This sleeping pad provides a very comfortable nights sleep. The XL is large -- 2 XLs side by side is the same profile as 1 queen size matress. The pad is a little tricky to deflate and compress back into its original rolled size. Basically, you roll the pad once, close the air valves, unroll it, then roll it again more tightly, opening the valves as you get near the end. Its really not any harder than getting tha last bit of air out of a standard air matress. A recommended additional purchase is the Therm-a-Rest stuff sack to hold the pad for transport. Another consideration is where/how you will store the pad. The mfgr. recommends against long term storage in the stuff sack or in a folded or rolled position. The pad should be stored flat under a bed or behind a sofa. I use a secure area in the basement where the pad is against the wall. Other than some inconvenience in the long term storage (you shouldnt leave the pad rolled up on a shelf), this pad has definitely met my expectations. Not backpacking? Go for Luxury. For tenters and car campers Luxury Camp is perfect. Plenty of cushion and narrow enough (the regular size, at least) to fit in the back of any SUV. the best yet This is a great mattress. Very comfortable and wide enough for a good sleep for the wider folks.. I wouldnt recommend if you are backpacking (due to weight and size) but if youre car camping or not trekking a long way - this is a great sleeping pad. Very comfortable This is a superbly comfortable pad for camping. Too large for back packing, but great for car camping. I used to use an air mattress, but this is much better. Certainly less overwhelming in the tent and quite enough to eliminate ground bumps. Only problem was to take it out of the original packaging at the campsite and to discover the directions to let it expand for far longer than I had before bedtime. Therm-a-Rest Luxury Camp (XL) I bought this as an upgrade from our backpacking Thermarest pads for our ever increasing "car camping" for my husband with a bad back. He loves it. He says it is the only air matress he has ever been on that he can not feel any of the ground through, rocks and bumps and such. I can only say excellent things about it! |
