![]() Teton Sports Fox 75+10L Internal Frame Backpack (Red) By: Teton Sports Average Rating: 4.0 Total Reviews: 17 More Information FRIGGIN AWESOME!!!!! This pack is too sweet...It is huge and well built. For the money you cannot get any better! Good Deal on Reasonable pack. Bought this for my son doing a 5-day hike in the Sierras. Worked fine. Big enough and didnt rip or break. My son, at 61", found it comfortable. Im prejudiced toward exterior frames, but thought it was a decent pack for occasional/casual backpacking. Believe well be using for years to come. Top load is awful I just traveled around the world with this backpack for about 10 weeks, and I didnt really appreciate having it around. As a backpack, its well made - good amount of room, relatively comfortable load bearing, solid construction - I didnt have anything break the entire time aside from a clip that fell off from somewhere (not sure where, never put it back) around the halfway mark. The big problem with it, however, is that the only way to pack and unpack the backpack is through the top of the backpack, an opening thats maybe 15 in. wide. As a result, it becomes very difficult once its packed to take stock of or access items packed near the bottom. A few of the friends I was traveling with had backpacks that had a zipper that went all around the front of the backpack so that the front opened as a flap and the pack could be loaded like a suitcase. I highly recommend finding one of these - this may sound like a small issue, but it was a constant headache over the course of the trip. In terms of what I was able to fit inside: three pairs of long pants, two dress shirts, two pairs of shorts, 7-8 t-shirts, 3 polos, 7 pairs of boxers, 5 pairs of socks, 2 button up shirts (all in the main pocket). In the sleeping bag pocket I managed to fit a pair of shoes and a pair of flip flops (no sleeping bag, obviously). In the various side pockets I had no trouble packing my toiletries. The clothing was very tight, I think I probably packed in as much as I possibly could have, so use that to judge the size as best you can. In all honesty, if I were doing my travels again, I probably would have just taken a good, light rolling suitcase. Walking around with a heavy backpack is much more cumbersome unless youre using this for hiking/camping. For simply traveling, its hard to beat the convenience and space offered by a suitcase. I think the backpack tends to get used too often simply because it marks you as a "backpacker" rather than necessarily offering much by way of increased convenience while traveling. Great Pack, I'd say 4.5 out of 5 I bought this pack for an internship that I am currently doing. It is an awesome color, and Im really happy that it came with a rain fly. It has enought space to carry more than what I need, and a ton of little side pockets for things like bug spray or socks. You really cant beat the price either. I havent seen many packs that are this big and they are still much more expensive. I love that it has a bunch of straps so that you can attach things that would fit ackwardly inside to the outside. In addition to all this the top extends to fit a lot more. Overall, this is a great pack. I only had one problem with it and that was that it got a small hole in a pocket the first week i had it. Other than that, the pack is awesome and I love it. Great Bag! I love this bag, I went out in the wilderness for 4 days and this bag was perfect. It fit all of my gear, and when I had it on my back it didnt feel like I really was carrying anything. I do recommend this, plus you will not find a bag of this quality for cheaper. This is a great pack I purchased this pack for the occasional camping trip and I have absolutely no regrets. Yes, there are alot of little straps and ties, but Im in the camp of having too many is better than having too few. I am 59" and I was good to go without having to make any height adjustments. Despite some concerns from other reviewers regarding comfort, Ive found it surprisingly comfortable and wouldnt mind using this to hike-in a few miles fully loaded. I really like the placement for a hydropack, and while the sleeping bag compartment is snug, it works fine. You can also unzip the bottom compartment and just make it one big enclosure if you prefer. I didnt have to use it, but the rain cover is a nice touch. This pack looks, feels, and handles like a much more expensive pack, and especially for this price, I would definitely recommend it to others. Teton Sports 75+ Backpack I have used this for two weekend outing sense I purchased it and have had great luck with it. The only issue in the compartment for the sleeping bag is a bit small, I can get mine to fit, a mummy, but is tight. The assorted pockets and compartments have served me week and and so no issues using this pack the summer when I will be living out of it for a week. Luckly I have not had reason to us the rainfly yet as I have been able to bring it into my tent both trips. Great for the price This is a great backback for the price. Not the lightest pack for the capacity (which is decent) but not overly heavy (and cheap - I think I paid about $60). I found it very comfortable for a 4 days grand canyon trip. I did not like the side pockets - not very accessible and wierd shape that precluded putting water bottle in them. Overall a good pack. Backpacking Hey guys The backpack is awsome. when i made my purchase, you guys showed my the red, and i could by 2 togheter, and thats what i done however, you sent me 2 red backpacks, i try to find some place that i could change my order but i didnt, but thats ok for me, just whatch out so that doesnt happen again thank you guys, seeya Good but not great, depending on use I take about one 3 week packpack trip a year. I recently used this for a 3 week stint in SE Asia. It was actually a little bigger than Id like but it was rather inexpensive for the type of backpack so I gave it a try. Unless you are going to a cold place, you shouldnt need more than 55L. My friend bought the Teton 55L off Amazon and I rather liked it, so Im buying that one next. I was going to originally get that but Amazons prices seem to change quite a bit on these backpacks. One week it was $49, next $79, next $69. PROS: -Its big. I went there using only about 60% of the capacity. I ended up buying a lot more stuff than I usually do just because I knew I had the space. -The materials are very good quality. For the price, I was very surprised. Id guess it would be around $100-$150 if I saw it in the store for the first time. -Sleeping bag compartment, pretty easy access. CONS: -Its HEAVY. I would put it at 6 pounds empty. I was rather irritated when I picked it up. Its the heaviest backpack Ive ever picked up. -The design is really poor. The number of straps and plastic snaps is beyond insane. Not only that, most of the straps are over twice the length you need it to be, even for a large person. There are several I had no clue what they did, like the bottom ones. There are both loops and straps on the bottom of it for an unknown reason. This all adds a ton of weight. In fact, I spent about 3 hours clipping off all the straps and buckles I didnt need or figure out what the purpose was. I also removed the huge, oversized hip pads/straps. I then used industrial glue to redo the straps. I removed nearly 3 pounds from it. -The 10+ refers to the top being used as a hip bag, theres a rather large, heavy buckle in the top part that you use to strap around your waist. Not only is it awkward to wear, its the dorkiest looking thing. Id put it on par with duct-tape and a large zip-lock freezer baggie. -Water bottle holders are too short, my water kept falling out. I ended up just carrying it in my hand. -The rain cover in the top is pointless to me. more weight I got rid of. Itd help if you are in a downpour but who treks when its raining that heavy. Maybe if youre in the woods and cant get decent shelter...or you want to use it to make a temp shelter... For light rain, the material is semi-water resistant. I just sprayed some water-proofer on it before I left and voila, zero weight water resistant. -The side pockets are useless. I like the ones that actually are compartments. These are just folds that expand out. I could only stick a couple folded shirts in them. -Material is high quality, however its also very heavy again adding to the weight -The top is only held on by plastic buckles, the kind that easily come un-done when check-ind at the airport. I used metals clasps to secure them for flight. If they come undone, I could easily imagine your contents being dumped all over the tarmac. -The main compartments height/width ratio is not good. Its basically a long slender tube. Itd be better to have the widget and depth increased and have it a few inches shorter like most others. -The main straps that go over the shoulder, which supports the entire bag are nearly ripped apart and I didnt have much weight in it. It can easily be fixed with gorilla glue which I used on other parts as well. Theres only a line of stitching on each strap supporting the entire weight. For the most critical, stressed stitch...spend the extra penny to make it more secure. SUMMARY: Good for the price. I might suggest it if you are mountain backpacking and are more interested in getting something decent for a cheap price but for backpack traveling, there are a lot better options, even in the $50-$100 range. nice bag/good price I purchased this bag for a two week backpacking trip. I was very satified with the product. There was plenty of storage and many compartment options. The bag proved to withstand the airport baggage and the padding made it comfortable to carry. Good first impression for the most part I got the pack and loaded it up with all my gear. I adjusted the hip straps trying to get the load to rest on my hip. When I did, the stitches holding the straps down started popping. It wasnt enough to rip them off but I was surprised at the lack of strength in them. I am 63" and have a long torso so even at the highest setting the shoulder and hips were too close together but it didnt bother me too bad. It started raining and the included rain fly was a life saver. The other guys I was with were jealous that all my gear was staying dry. Hopefully it is just a fluke that the stitches were weak because I think this is definitely a high quality pack. Plenty of storage and it is comfortable especially if you have a shorter torso. IT's not a good bag ! Its not a good bag ,and the design has a redundant construction ! It might bring inconvenience to traveling . Since I have find the red color is not the same as the picture shows! I am not good luck to brought this one Good and great value! Great capacity, comfortable, and cheap! I like its design: many storage spaces, pockets for hydration system, water bottles, sleeping bag, and straps for sleeping pads, etc. Perfect for me I highly recommend this bag for anyone who doesnt yet have the equipment to pack lighter for backpacking trips. Its a fairly heavy bag, but its built so well, its really esy to carry. Perfect for beginning backpackers. Probably a good one for highly experienced backpackers going on really long trips. NOT good for ultra-light backpacking, but I dont think there are many of you out there. I filled the bag to its max capacity and found that I had packed enough clothing for at least a 15-18 day trip. The bag showed great structural integrity overall and stayed well balanced on my body frame through some long hikes. All the compartments made my belongings easy to organize. Some of the outside straps and clips can be a bit excessive, but I would suggest tying up the slack before you check it in at the airport. They did come in handy when I was on the road. I was able to tie up heavy jackets and even my camera tripod securely. One of the clips on the shoulder straps that is used to secure water bladder tubing snapped in transport; however, it was of little significance to me overall and there is an extra one on the other side. I would definitely recommend this bag if youre looking for one item to hold all your stuff. Good but not great Its a good pack but not constructed the best. I had to restitch part of the inside because it was falling apart on arrival and I didnt want that to happen while I was out. The rainjacket works well and came in handy on my first day out. other than a few construction flaws it is a good bag. Good but not great Its a good pack but not constructed the best.
