![]() MSR Blacklite Gourmet Cookset By: MSR Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 9 More Information Great cookset. Fragile anti-stick coating This cookset really served us well on a recent trip. Very compact, and the chamois between the pots was a great idea to prevent rattling, and also came in handy doing dishes a couple of times. The anti-stick coating is rally fragile, though, showing scuffs from several uses with a plastic spoon. No scratch-throughs, though. I would but it again. Nice set Good product and price. Took it camping and once everything is together, doesnt take much room. Holds up well. Blacklite Gourmet Set Worth it... This cookset comes up to temperature quickly and evenly, is easy to clean and has enough volume to cook for 4 hungry campers. It is light, durable, and a definite upgrade from the stainless steel solo set that I previously owned. I was happy to find that I get a much larger set for the same weight that I was used to with the steel set. Cant beat aluminum! My only concern, which is yet to develop, is the durability of the non-stick coating along the rims after repeatedly having the handle clamped on it and off during use. I guess time will tell? Solid buy Positives: This set is very compact, very light, and seems durable enough to handle being in a trail pack (I havent field tested yet). It comes with two chamois-like cloths, with the stated purpose of using it for washing, drying, or storing the pieces together. The potholder also comes in a "pouch" made of the same material. It also comes with a mesh bag. Negatives: The bottom scratches easily (I had it on a canister stove and the pot slid a little across it). Despite accurate measurements in the product description, I was still a little taken aback at how small the set is. Great for minimizing pack size, but not so great if youre cooking for more than two people. To be fair, I havent field tested this as noted above, so take this review in that light. But I think Ill have to pack extra. No complains by: Anonymous On: 2008-01-08 The Teflon coating provides you a very good plus not only when cooking also when you need to wash them, its easier to remove all the dirty using less soap. A little big (not complains, Im Happy with them) for one person traveling with little backapck or bike panniers but they are enough also for two or maybe three persons. They are better than the aluminium or stanley steel ones. You only have to add a little cup or mug in order to drink hot beverages on your trip Good Quality Pots The non-stick aspect of these pots is great for camping, easy clean up, good brand, great quality. blacklite gourmet cookset This was purchased as a gift for someone else. The item arrived promptly and appeared exactly as described. Since its a gift for someone else, I havent used it. I do think more than 1 lid would be a good idea. Awesome camping cookware I really like this set of cookware so far. Ive only used it once, but it did a fantastic job. They stack into a small bag, so it is great from a space perspective. They also clean very easily. I had some burnt on rice at the bottom of one of the bowls, and it came right off. I was most impressed with the heat conductivity, though. It was amazing how quickly my MSR Pocket Rocket heated up the bowl and cooked the food. The Pocket Rocket is a great product, but the conductivity of these pots and pans were definitely key. I highly recommend! Awesome camping cookware I really like this set of cookware so far. Ive only used it once, but it did a fantastic job.
