It works well but...     On: 2008-08-19

I bought it to add it to my watch band but it doesnt fit. My watch band is titanium and is somewhat thick. So I cant blame Suunto.

Amazon didnt take it back. On the other hand, it will be a great present since (a) it works very well, (b) it also has its own band (a velcro thingie), and (c) its well made and looks very nice.

NOTE. This is the first time ever that Amazon didnt allow returning an item. Their excuse was hilarious: it contains a flammable liquid.
Worked as expected     On: 2008-06-12

Works well and seem to be of good quality. If this is what you need I recommend it without reservations.
its ok for the price     On: 2008-05-27

not a bad little compass, moves a bit slow when your turning it, but then I didnt really expect much for what I paid.
Not worth it.     On: 2008-04-22

I purchased this compass to attach to my new Timex. It didnt fit on the Timex band nor did it fit the bands of any other watch I own. Granted, it is only ten dollars, but its just not worth purchasing. I guess it does point to North, if you hold it flat and steady. It just wont serve my purpose, however. Id send it back but its not worth returning.
Fair compass     On: 2008-03-16

Not a big issue since you shouldnt be navigating with this compass but it was a little off magnetic north compared with a higher end compass and city street guides. Should do the job for basic orientation when arriving by train in some of those strange countries.
great pocket compass     On: 2008-02-18

Great little compass, but I wish it had a little better way to attach to a keychain. The little wristband thing that it comes with went right in the trash - no practical use. Still, I got it secured with a piece of cord and its very useful, even at night.
Exceptional in its field     On: 2008-01-20

The Suunto Clipper with luminous bezel is exceptional for what it is.

It is not intended as a primary navigational tool, but a backup and a way to check other tools. It is small enough to go mostly unnoticed on a watchstrap in the woods, but has luminous bezel and markings, and a rotating bezel. It is marked every 10 degrees and has clicks on the bezel every 7 1/2 degrees. With most of the features of a full sized compass and accuracy comparable or better than many larger compasses, this is an outstanding watchstrap compass. It is durable, still performing well after riding in a pocket full of keys and change and being beaten about on ones wrist.

Overall: the best of its type! If you want a better compass, youll have to get a bigger compass.

Cheap and Juvenile     On: 2007-12-03

This product is cheap and juvenile. Somewhat functional. But definitely not worth even its cheap price.
Works Great!     On: 2007-10-17

ADDED TO MILITARY STYLE WATCH, WORKS GREAT, IT WOULD BE 5 STARS IF IT LIT UP AT NIGHT. EUROPEAN TECHNOLOGY AT ITS BEST.
Superb     On: 2007-09-16

This fits nicely on my watchband. I have bought several of the Chinese "all in one" survival aids - compass, whistle, LED light, etc.. - and the compasses NEVER work. This is a VERY accurate 1" diameter compass. No, it is not a lensatic compass for orienteering, but it WILL tell you where north, south, east, and west are.....

Good for the price, can be uncomfortable to wear     On: 2007-08-23

I bought this in hopes of wearing it on my watchband, but some of the edge poke can be felt after wearing it for a while. However, I wear my watch tight, and by band is wide and thick plastic. The compass itself is great, much better than the cheap compasses like those on match containers and the like. I have mine on a lanyard attached to a Sog Revolver. The luminous bezel is great too. It makes a great backup compass.
Better than Expected     On: 2007-04-03

This compass is better than I expected. It is tiny but accurate, clips firmly onto my watch band (and comes with a band of its own), and has a smooth, fluid motion. The latch is a bit flimsy, and cant close completely on the band of my Timex Mens Ironman Triathlon 100-Lap FLIX System Watch #T5E231 but it grips well enough -- even for off road running -- that the latch really isnt needed (and the rest of the compass is not flimsy at all.) The north indicator and rotating bezel are luminous enough to see easily at night, and the bezel stays firmly in the position you set it in. Worth the price.
