![]() Slumberjack Esplanade 0F Oversized Right Sleeping Bag By: Slumberjack Average Rating: 4.0 Total Reviews: 4 More Information Cold weather bag or intro to mummies by: books_from_curt On: 2007-06-01 I love this bag when the weather gets cold. I have used it comfortably down to about 15 degrees on a thermal pad with thermals/socks/cap. The rectangular foot is a little harder to heat since it has so much room, but you can stuff in tomorrows clothes to reduce the air space. It helped me get over the transition from full rectangular to a mummy type bag since I thought I needed the freedom. The oversized bag has good shoulder room for XL guys. I learned that when it gets cold I dont need much leg room. Good for car camping, a little heavy for backpaking. Great bag by: Anonymous On: 2007-02-21 I got this bag because my slumberjack cot was probably the best made cot Ive ever owned and because it was wider then a mummy bag. It looks and feels very solid and For the most part i was very warm considering it was about 20 deg outside and windy. The carrier bag is a bit to small and very hard to get the sleeping bag into. So i may buy a bigger carrier bag soon But over all i am very pleased with this bag and still stand by all slumberjack products. Good sleeping bag, but not oversized by: Anonymous On: 2007-01-16 Got this bag because, from the stated measurements, it seemed that it would give me room to move around. Those measurements, however, are far from the bags finished size. It is a standard sized bag. On the good side, its a very well built, good looking bag at a great price. I still have my first Slumberjack bag (about 25 years old now) and the Esplanade looks like it will last just as long. About the stuff sack, youll never roll this bag tight enough to get it back in - but if you just start at one end and jam it in handful by handful, it will fit. If you want just a little more room than a mummy bag, this will work for you - but Im sending it back and will move up to a Coleman Big Basin Expononent for the room. Great bag for price by: dave@vacationsinc.com On: 2006-08-17 This bag has many features typically found in higher end bags, such as an integrated interior pocket, velcro shoulder straps, and a drawstring hood. It is roomy and is nice if you want to be able to roll around while you sleep. 2 minor annoyances. a.) Zipper gets EASILY stuck and jammed in fabric while using. This can be challanging when you have to get out of the tent in the night or want to make adjustments. b.) The stuff sack that comes with the bag is really nice; however, once the bag is out for the first time you will NEVER get it back into the stuff sack (oh-my did we try!!!). We traded out an older bags larger stuff sack to now use with the SlumberJack. Its just kind of a shame that they didnt use a bigger stuff sack, because it is a nice one. This being said I would buy this one again, and would recommend it as a good economical bag. The features that were listed as a concern above are easily corrected by buying a $200 bag... |
