I ordered the Sleep Sack to take on a bareboat sailboat charter in the Caribbean. Caribbean bareboat charters typically come with sheets and you rarely need anything more in the tropical climate. On charters in cooler climates I bring a sleeping bag or fleece sleeping bag liner.
The Sleep Sack int its pouch was barely noticeable in my luggage (compared to the snorkel gear, sailing gear...).
That first night I climbed into my bunk and unfurled it, letting it settle gently over my bare legs. The breeze coming through the open hatch above me rustled it, a lovely sensation for a while, but eventually distracting as I tried to sleep. Easy solution: add the provided sheet over it to still the movement but retain the silky touch.
On breezeless nights I used just the sack. On breezey nights when my crew were seeking blankets, the combined sack and sheet were perfect.
Ill be bringing the Sleep Sack on every sailing trip from now on -- even if I dont use it, its no extra burden. On: 2008-04-01
Very comfortable to sleep in, feels like a less restrictive sleeping bag, I especially liked the pillow cover that turns hotel pillows into silk covered pillows. On: 2008-01-11
Arrived quickly. I was pleased at how compact it was. Very nice to the touch. On: 2007-10-07
I am a small-frame woman who does not toss and turn in bed. I used this bag on vacation for a week and hated it. I kept getting tangled up in it when I rolled over. Plus, all the hems work lose after using it for a week. Very poor quality stitching and fabric, and not comfortable to sleep in.
And the storage bag that attaches to it connects to the middle of the bag and cant be removed. So you get that in your back too during the night.
I DONT recommend. On: 2007-09-23
The sleep sacks came fast and look great. We bought them for a big international trip that hasnt happened yet, but from the looks of them, theyll be exactly what we need. On: 2007-07-12
I used this sleepsack in Africa, in places where I really didnt want my body touching the mattress, and I found it difficult to sleep in the sack without getting twisted up in it. It is very narrow and open on one side (to get in and out of), so if you move around at all while you sleep, its easy to find yourself partially outside of the sleep sack at some point during the night (I think the woman they show in the picture must be especially short and small since it appears much roomier than it actually is). I think you can get better value for the money. Advantages: it folds up small and is easy to transport. Cons: the silk doesnt appear to be great quality, and it is hard to get in and out of and restricts movement while sleeping. On: 2007-06-26
I was skeptical at first at the other review of how comfortable and how much better I would sleep than in hotel sheets but I am hooked. I wont travel with out my sleep sack. I will buy another for my daughter as I let her borrow it and she loved it and slept better too. I am so glad I researched this product before I bought the more expensive one I saw advertised.

This is a nice, economically-priced product that is small and light enough that I will probably always carry it with me on backpacking outings. Based on my very un-scientific experiments, I would say it indeed adds the 10 degrees it claims to bag warmth.
It is a bit of a hassle to get into the silk sack inside of a sleeping bag, but thats probably the normal case unless your liner was made specifically for your bag. I do wish it had a better system for closing up the sides (you have to tie it shut). I will probably sew buttons on instead, or maybe completely sew one side shut and sew buttons on the other.
I am 60", 170 lbs, and it slightly bigger than it needs to be for my frame/sleeping bag.

This product feels great against your skin and is light as a feather, but for "rambunctious" sleepers like my husband, it doesnt hold up. After 3 weeks of use it was ripped down the side. I was able to repair that, but after 6 weeks of use, it is totally destroyed, ripped into several pieces. If you are the type of person who pretty much wakes up in the same position you fell asleep in, then this is a great product, otherwise I would give it a pass. On: 2007-01-03
i really like the silk sack. Its comfortable and very useful On: 2007-01-03
I love it! It protects me from those God-knows-where-theyve-been airline blankets. I dont have to carry sheets or pillowcases anymore, and it washes/dries like a dream, too. Truly a blessing for the germ-phobe. On: 2006-08-30
While backpacking at hostels, like "the Tent" in Munich this summer and during eurail overnights, my son found this comfortable to use. It arrived promptly. On: 2006-08-13
This sleeping bag liner was everything I wanted it to be. I have bought from dreamsack company before and paid a very high price for the same quality I got with this sleep sack. I would say this is excellent quality for a lower price. On: 2005-06-13
this thing is awesome!! nice attached h20 proof sack is a great idea, a must have for any traveler/backpacker/outdoorsman.
compare price to any other liner and this is by far the best deal. all the products these guys have are great!
