Keeps food warm or cold for up to 8 hours     On: 2008-10-04

Top quality. Durable. Takes punishment and keeps my foods hot or cold for up to 8 hours. The key is to fill it up to the top with your food. I made the mistake on one occasion of filling it only halfway and it got cold before lunch (6 hours later).
Hot with no microwave     On: 2008-10-04

For those who cant or wont use a microwave for a hot lunch, this is great. I fill it with HOT water while I heat my soup/stew on the stove, then pour out the water and fill it. It seals well and it really does steam when I open it at lunch. Just right for my taste. Very convenient. Easy to clean. A little padded lunch bag is nice to carry it in. Enjoy...
Not Quite as Described     On: 2008-06-20

The color of the "pink" is more like a deep raspberry red, which I actually like better than the hot pink pictured on Amazon as it is less gender-specific. My only complaint is that I wish it had the handle that its advertised as having. Overall, though, nice looking, nice size.
Great for hot soup!     On: 2008-03-27

I bought this thermos because I wanted to be able to eat hot soup for lunch at work. From my experience so far, it keeps soup hot for 3+ hours if you temper it with hot water first for a couple minutes. Excellent construction, leak proof, and easy to clean.
works right     On: 2008-01-02

It works very well, as is advertised. Works much better if you warm it first with hot water.
Keeps things hot all day!     On: 2007-11-22

Ive tried several thermos jugs for my kids lunches but their soup would be barely warm by noon. This Stanley will keep soup HOT for at least 6 hours and very warm for longer than that. I have been very pleased with this purchase.
Just perfect for lunch     On: 2007-11-19

This thermos is perfect for taking soup for lunch. Its sturdy and does a good job of keeping items hot.
stanley food thermos     On: 2007-11-14

I highly recommend this thermos. I put hot water from the faucet into the thermos and close it while I heated up a 10 ounce can of soup. Then I emptied out the hot water from my thermos and pour the soup in it at 6:00 in the morning. I packed it in my soft vinyl lunch cooler that had been in my locker inside my workplace. By noon time, I unscrewed the cap and steam was rising from my thermos. It was so hot that I wish I had an ice cube to cool it down. Now that is a thermos that says it will keep your food hot. Ive only done soups so far and compared to my previous brand "Thermos", my soup would be warm by noon that I always wished it was hotter. I got the original Stanley green and I plan to purchase the blue one for my husband. A very high quality thermos.

well made     On: 2007-07-13

It is the perfect size to carry lunch, and very well made. I love the simplicity of its design.
Does the work     On: 2007-01-29

Yes, no handle and made in China. Other than that, this product keeps food hot. I found this thermos in Target with clearance price ($8.98) and I am very happy. It keeps food hot for hours. Regular price at Walmart and Target is $17.98.
Nice Product but with two problems     On: 2006-11-16

The Stanley 17 oz is perfect for lunch or a hike. The bottle looks well made and rugged like my older and larger stanley thermos. I was surprised however that this Stanley product is made in China. That does not take away from the quality but I have associated Stanley products with "Made in the USA". The other issue is that this bottle does not have a handle as decribed in the advertisement - it has no handle at all. The circumferance is just manageable by a medium sized adult hand. A handle would be nice when you have several things to carry - otherwise this bottle needs to be in a bag or other container.
