I have not had a chance to use this yet...but I like it better than the
magnesium fire starter(which I also have). The fire steel in my opinion would work better than the other simply due to the fact you dont have to scrape some off and then hope the wind dont come up and blow it away before you can get the fire lit.
Dont get me wrong...they both will light a fire and that is their purpose. Different situations require different "tools".

Works surprisingly well, even for a urbanite like me. Give yourself a few minutes to play with it and youll have mastered a skill you hope you never need.

Great little fire starter. A bit tricky to get the hang of at first, but it does work!
