AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE     On: 2008-07-18

The backpack from High Sierra lasted me about 2 years until I needed to have it replaced. I contacted High Sierra CS and they sent me an email within the hour. I had returned the backpack to them by warranty and they decided to replace it at no cost to me. I asked for a different color and they gave me a choice of colors. I sent at least 5 emails to them and the CS has been outstanding. Thanks a lot.

The backpack is built pretty well but mine started to smell after a while. I have no idea why, it just did.
Great bag!!     On: 2008-01-27

This is really a great bag. It is very roomy. Its a little bit on the heavy side, but if youre putting a lot of things in it then its well worth your money. For the most optimal comfort, you have to use the straps that go across your chest and waist. That really takes the load off your back some.
Great     On: 2008-01-05

This bag is perfect. I can fit my 17" widescreen Dell Laptop in the bag perfectly. The great thing is I can load it up with a ton of other crap at the same time. If I have nothing in it, I can sinch the sides with the straps to fit my size needs. There are a ton of compartments to keep things separated. The seller for me was the rainguard. I ride my bike everyday with this backpack and getting caught in the rain would have been a real bummer, especially with my laptop. Not with the rainguard. The yellow color might put off some people, but I like the visibility!

This was an excellent buy and the pack is great. I took a three day trip and was able to get all my belongings in this pack.
Great Backpack     On: 2007-10-29

This is a great backpack for college- it holds your laptop as well as several books, your lunch and anything else you could possibly imagine. It even comes with a rain cover for those long walks to class on soggy days.
Not Shaped for a Woman!     On: 2007-10-22

This backpack would be great if I were a man. As it is, the chest strap is in a way wrong place and is not adjustable. I didnt think I would mind this but with use Ive found that the chest strap really comes in handy at times, esp when youre carrying a heavy load in your pack.
Bag is fantastic, Amazon's description is misleading     On: 2007-09-28

Currently, Amazon says that this bag will hold a laptop that is:
17" x 12" x 2"

Manufacturer says that the bag will hold a laptop that is:
15.5" x 10.75" x 1.8"

Big difference, as I found out. I returned it, bought the Targus XL bag instead and didnt regret it one bit.

My son really liked his previous High Sierra backpack, which stood up to two middle school years until he left his lunch in it - then the dog chewed on it......So it was time to find another. He loves this one. Plenty of room for just about anything. The ventilation system on the back is one of his favorite features.
The best back pack on earth!!!!     On: 2007-08-25

This is absolutely the best back pack I have ever owned. I started my first year of college after being out of H S for a few years. I wasnt sure what to expect in the way of books and supplies I would have to carry. This back pack is THE largest back pack I have found anywhere. It is the most durable, and even after loading approx. 50 lbs. of books/supplies into it it is still easy to carry. I have so many books to lug around that I even found and bought a second one pack! Even though I havent yet taken my laptop to class with me, I love the fact that this back pack has such a well padded sleeve built right in! I definitely recommend this back pack to anyone. No matter if you need it for school, work or recreation. This is absolutely the only back pack you will ever need!

A Great Product     On: 2007-08-01

Really Nice! Tons & tons of compartments.Well Made! Only one draw back if you have lots of small things you might forget which pocket you put the item in. Other than that it is the best back-pack I have ever owned!
Great Backpack     On: 2007-06-27

Perfect for business travel with lots of space and a padded laptop area. Only thing I would change is to add some dividers for paperwork. The straps maintain the backpack in whatever positon is best for the user.
Great product!     On: 2007-05-20

I bought this backpack for my tour of Europe. I tour cities in bursts of 2-3 days so this pack has to hold my things for 2-3 days.

Pros:
1. It has many pockets for all kinds of gadgets or items you may have.

2. The bottle holder is far better than in any previous backpack i have owned. It has a zipper to it so you can tighten the bottle agaist the pack to hold it down.

3. It has a rain cover. I havent needed to use it yet but im sure that day will come.

4. The laptop padding is good. I have had the pack tip over and fall on the floor. The laptop was protected each time.

5. The pack has padding for your back as well. However, there is a con here that ill explain further down.

6. The pack is spacious and wide enough for my dslr camera bag. This is a big plus for me.

Cons:
1. The padding for your shoulders and back has a tendency to cover air flow and makes you sweat. The pack is advertised to have good air flow but this is not true in my experience.

2. The wait strap is excessive and unnecessary in my opinion. My pack is never heavy enough to need it.

3. The pack is advertised to be able to hold upto 17in. laptops but i have serious doubts about that. My 15.4in widescreen laptop fits snugly and hangs out of the top of the covering a good bit. The dimensions of my laptop are the following: 14.25" x 10.55" x 1.54"

Overall a very good pack, best ive had yet.
Love it!     On: 2007-05-16

We love this backpack! I had been used to getting my daughter a new backpack every year for school, when she started high school, I said this one is lasting you all four years. And it did, almost. With 3 months to go, her old pack finally gave up the ghost. She loved the style so much, she asked for another one exactly like it to get her through college. She uses it as a carry on when she travels, for everything. She once lost a can of soup at hand in it, but the airport screening people found it! Great pack for a high school/college age student.

GREATEST BACKPACK ON EARTH     On: 2007-04-28

The backpack is the greatest backpack I have ever owned. I dont use a locker at school, and this backpack easily holds all of my books and binders. Plus, with the great strap and back support it doesnt feel like Im carrying anything even though it has at least 50 lbs of stuff in it!
I especially love the immense amount of pockets this backpack has. It has enough pockets to not only fit but organize all my belongings. Now I can find anything, including my keys with the super cool key clip that alows you to clip your keys into the one of the pockets. This comes in very handy.
However, the greatest feature of this backpack is that it is the "cross-trainer" of back packs. It is extremely useful for school and camping without compromising either. It even has a concealable water bottle holder and rain cover, which both come in very useful, seeing as it always rains while I go camping.
All in all, everyone in the world should use this backpack. It comfortable, resizable, and has enough features that anybody can find a perfect use for it. Plus, its guaranteed for life by High Sierra, and much cheaper than any other heavy duty backpack I know of. I will never use a different kind of backpack ever as long as I live.

Excellent school backpack     On: 2007-03-19

It seems to be the fate of high school kids in America these days to have lots of books and notebooks to carry back and forth to and from school. Both our kids are now using these backpacks and just love the amount of room they have as well as the number of compartments for storing things. What they like best of all is the great padding on the straps and back of the pack. It is amazingly comfortable!

Light weight, good support and plenty of room and pockets. This back pack has been superb for going to work with my computer. So good I bought one for my wife.
One Great Bag!     On: 2006-12-30

The Access Day Pack by High Sierra is one of the best Back Pack/Day Packs I have ever owned. It is VERY roomy and has plenty enough space to store just about anything. I frequently travel with 2 laptops a sizable 3 ring binder, several hand held radios and at least one camera. This means that I not only need a lot of space I need a bag that will support the weight of the gear. After 3 years of continual use only a few stitches are coming loose on the shoulder straps.

The Access Day Pack, has been great! Although it is not waterproof, it comes with its own rain coat that covers the bag just in case you get caught in undesirable weather. I thought that was a cool feature!

I also an not a big fan of pre-sized pockets and pouches as they never fit my stuff. However the pockets in this bag are really good size and can hold most cellphones or 2-way radios.

The things I would change about the bag are:
1) The top MP3 style pocket. It is big enough to hold your iPod but if you put much else in it you run out of room quickly.

2) I would add another "water bottle" holder on the left side. These pockets are always useful and having a second one would only make this bag that much better.

3) I would add a rubberized waterproof bottom to the bag. If you set it down in a wet area for very long the water will soak through.

Hope this helps...
