Fantastic!     On: 2008-05-10

I was looking for a back pack to go on a 5 day-hike.
Its a beautiful orange that enables you to spot your luggage right away. I was able to pack all the things that I needed. This back pack went through dirt and other things... Its very comfortable and resistant. I would buy it again if I had too.
Awesome bag     On: 2008-04-24

This bag is great. It is made really well. On the bottom there is a pocket with a raincover. Very comfortable to carry. I will take this bag to Europe for 2 weeks and it fits all the stuff I need.
It is good     On: 2008-04-01

This bag is good enough for me. It contains several small bags which could categorize my belongings. I will go to Mountain Huangshan with this bag the day after tomorrow!
Surprisingly Stylish, Good quality, will fit as carry on luggage     On: 2007-12-30

im traveling to s america for 14 days in january on a recreational trip, and wanted a middish-sized backpack that would fit in the overhead cabin on flights... i like to travel light and quick. it being summer down there, ill just be packing shorts, swim trunks, t shirts, boxers, athletic socks, one pair running shoes, sleeping bag, 1 pair pants, 1 rain jacket, canon sx 100 IS camera, 1 guidebook, and toiletry bag. i wanted to write a review before i left in case it helps some other shopper in the interim.

1. arrived promptly by fedex and earlier than expected from the luggage co./KNS Int.
2. sharp looking, stylish - orange and grey color, cool reflective lettering/logo on the shoulder strap. overall slightly smaller than i visually expected perhaps, but im sure it meets the size specs specified on amazon. it does fill out well though. will certainly be allowed as carry on luggage.
3. good quality overall - very comfortable moulding/padding on the back, hip, and shoulder straps...about a tiny level below the osprey atmos. backpack fabric just right - not too thin nor thick.
4. this is a zippered backpack, not a top loading typical backpack. kinda looks like a travel-specific big brother to a college/school backpack.
5. theres a zippered main compartment for all your stuff. then theres a large zippered outside compartment, a foot or so in length, large enough to pack smaller clothes items and books. im guessing this outside compartment is meant for active hikers/climbers to place their active stuff in for quick access without having to open the main compartment. then theres an outside pocket (not zippered) and side pockets, convenient for water bottles, guide books, maps, sandals, and such.
6. theres a zippered padded pouch on top and above and behind the main compartment, meant for a hydration system. ill use this as my camera pouch, as pickpockets in brazil will likely not have visual access to it; plus the padding helps the camera.
7. ok now this vario height adjustment thingy - all it really is 4 belt loops one above the other at the back labeled L, M, S, XS, and a velcro strap (attached to the shoulder pad plate) that pulls thru these loops as you choose your size. im just under 511", and i pulled the velcro strap thru the L loop. it feels comfortable, though i wish the moulded waist belt would sit a little lower like the osprey. not a deal breaker.
8. theres an attached rain cover neatly concealed in a velcro pouch at the base of the backpack and accessible from the back.
9. the list price is shown on amazon as $240 with a strikethrough, and the purchase price as $69.99. i cant imagine this backpack being $240. the osprey atmos 50 is $200 online and at REI stores and i would buy that for a longer travel...though i do believe that ospreys are way overpriced. $70 online is about right for this comet 45. but, it is really stylish and sporty and will draw appreciative looks. im an active runner and it fits my persona.
10. conclusion: i like this backpack. its just right for this trip. its comfortable (though a notch less than the osprey, but better than the REI UL series), good quality, and has sass/personality. once at my destinations, i can empty it out and also use it as an oversized day pack for island jaunts. hope this helps someone.
