I dont know what else to say but the Salomon Solaris 2 are my favorite hiking shoes. They are light (too light), comfortable, and so tough that I can use them on almost any kind of trail - the soles can take it. I love the way the soles are "non-skid" and yet do not squeak when I walk in them on marble floors. I can use them in wet weather and they dry fast, save for the insoles. The lacing system appears basic but on closer look you will notice that it allows for more free foot size adjustment especially at the upper part. I also like the looks of these hikers as they are plain but exude a "ready-to-go" sportiness, are never gaudy, and go well with cargo jeans, denims, khakis, and shorts.
