On: 2007-08-09We ordered four of these to hold supplies (flashlight, first aid, rain poncho, clothes, etc.) for an emergency "go-pack" for each family member. Backpacks can be really expensive--even the most basic styles--and we just needed something functional, roomy, and water-resistant to be on stand-by (that we hopefully will never need to use). This backpack is perfect for our needs. No, it is not fashionable. But it is waterproof (all the zippers are covered by the heavy-duty fabric) and has oodles of pockets: 2 zip-pockets on either side, 2 stacked zip-pockets on the front, PLUS a generous main compartment. Like most backpacks, this has padded, adjustable shoulder straps and a nylon carrying loop up top. The only negative is that these backpacks have a strong petroleum/rubber/blacktop sort of smell, which is irrelevant for us, since these will be in storage anyway. This weird odor would probably wash out in the laundry. |
