A single bottle of this stuff served me for over a decade, and I finally had to replace it because the bottle cap broke, not because it lost its potency. Polar Pure is easy to use, light to carry, and dirt cheap considering its outrageous life-expectancy. It has been my sole water purifier on countless backcountry trips over many, many years, and no one on any of those trips ever got sick from bad water. I cant understand why REI stopped carrying it, and I may never forgive them for it.

Just one of these jars will last you forever. The mixing instructions are more complicated than for tablets, but the taste is much better. I took it to the third world when traveling because I didnt want the weight of a pump and filter. I also have it at home in my emergency kit.
