They are a bit bulky for backpacking if one is going a long distance. Make sure after you first uncompress them you shake them vigorlously and fluff them to get them to thier full size. Wonderful company  On: 2007-12-07Besides getting a great camping pillow the company was wonderful to deal with. The pillow was somehow lost in transit and when I emailed them that I had not received it, I heard right back, and they made good on the problem ASAP. We emailed back and forth until the new pillow arrived safely. They were absolutely great and I would highly recommend them. Not a fan On: 2007-11-17I bought this pillow and returned it as was lumpy and very thin. Instead, I recommend the Lafuma Big Bear Pillow. In addition to being half the price of the Therm-a-rest, the Lafuma is not lumpy and reasonably substantive for a travel pillow of this size. Either pillow is more for airplanes or backpacking where size and weight are critical considerations--you will likely want a larger pillow for car trips or car camping. Save Your Money... Dissapointed  On: 2007-10-17After lots of research, reading other reviews, consulting the local shaman, etc etc.. I bought this travel pillow for a trip to Guatemala. Price was reasonable... the pics show it to "look" exactly like what I wanted.. the brand has a great reputation. It arrived a few days ago... opened it up... let it expand as per instructions and Im 100% UNhappy with it. Its boxed and will return this week. While the quality looks to be first rate, once you open it up it doesnt expand much.. certainly not enough to be used as a pillow. Id say when its fully expanded.. its about 2" thick.. when I was expecting it to be about 6" thick...A wadded up sweatshirt would work better. Save your money and look elsewhere.. like sleeping on packing peanuts On: 2007-09-19These pillows are compressable, but as far as fluffy? NOT. They feel like they are full of styrofoam packing peanuts, and it does not seem to fluff up at all, despite tossing it around for a day and leaving it out two more days. Offers virtually NO padding when you lay your head on it. Quickly returned for refund. Great Buy On: 2007-09-02This is a great pillow for travel. It packs up pretty small, but fluffs up pretty nice when you leave it alone for a few minutes. Highly recommended. |
