On: 2008-02-22This is, indeed, the best pair of shoes Ive ever bought at this price. I cant tell you why this shoe was offered at such a deep discount, but at 50 bucks (about half of the regular price), I figured I would check them out and wouldnt be too dismayed if they ended up being a regrettable purchase (I typically dont like to buy untried shoes on-line). I was pleasantly surprised. The size runs a tad smaller than my other shoes, but not enough to make poor fit an issue. And, as another review mentioned, the top lace can "bite" into the foot a little bit if tied to tightly. However, I found I could loosen the top lace enough to be comfortable without affecting the snuggness of the rest of the shoe. How durable these shoes are on the trail remains to be seen, but at the price I paid Ill still be happy even if they only last a season or two. That draws into question whether or not I would pay full price for these shoes, but Ill need a few days--or weeks--in the woods to answer that. Great Shoes!  On: 2008-01-19These are really nice shoes however they are really not true to size. 90% of the shoes I buy are 10.5 and they usually fit me just fine but 10.5 in these were way to small. Amazon doesnt have an exchange program so I have to send em back and order new ones. I probably wont buy shoes online again. Edit: Well after wearing these shoes for a couple of days Ive got to say that they are awesome. Very comfortable and lightweight. As someone has posted before the top string does seem a little tight around my ankle but with a little adjustment it really isnt a factor anymore. Get these while still on sale!!! Good, but... On: 2008-01-07These are well built. They look pretty good, but perhaps a bit woman-like for me. Also, the top hole for the laces is too high, or not padded enough, or something. The lace hurts my ankles for a bit when I put them on, but it gets better with use / time. Good grip, supposedly waterproof, comfortable other than the lace issue if you like tight sneakers. Columbia Sportswear Men's Beartooth GTX Trail  On: 2007-11-19I have bought a lot of Columbia shoes all of witch were size 15s. This time the size 15 was way too tight. I have been wearing them so I cant return them. Other than being too tight, they are good shoes. |
