 NEW ULTRA BRIGHT 1 Watt LED Luxeon Headlamp Flashlight Average Rating: 1.0 Total Reviews: 2 More Information Control Button Sucks!  On: 2008-06-16Well, mine didnt break as in the previous review. It fits nicely and works fine once you get it to the setting you want. However, turning it on and off and switching between settings is a pain in the neck. The one button control is either too sensitive or not sensitive enough. It is very hard to get it to the setting you want and even harder to turn it off. Several times I thought it was turned off but somewhere along the line it turned itself back on and ran out the batteries. I am already looking for a better one. The only positive thing I can say for it is that is is plenty bright for my purposes: late night book reading around the campfire. Cheap On: 2008-01-19It arrived fast, which was probably the only thing positive I could say about this piece. Soon as I took it out of the package I tried to adjust the tilt angle and plastic flew. Im not sure exactly what broke off. I believe it was the locking mechanism, but the lamp stayed fix even with out it. Right on the package it says "Batteries Included." THEY WERE NOT. Once I popped in my own batteries, it worked fine for about 2 minutes then wouldnt turn off. It just kept cycling through the low/high/blink. Eventually it skipped blink mode. I deal with circuit boards and components at work, so I figured I would take it in and see what was wrong with it. Upon taking this device apart I instantly saw this lamp was soldered by HUMAN HANDS who were a bit in a hurry. So I re-soldered what needed to be soldered and the same problem kept happening. Sometimes it would skip the blink cycle and just turn off. Other times it wouldnt turn off. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didnt. I spent a few hours re-soldering and re-soldering. Eventually I figured it was a circuit board design flaw or a resister was dying or something. I just through away the whole headlamp. I would suggest just spending the 10-20 bucks more and just get something decent. |
