 Tikka Headlamp by Petzl By: Petzl Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 3 More Information i'm surprised by the quality, or rather the lack thereof  On: 2007-09-14when shopping for this headlamp, i went for a Petzl because of its reputation and my satisfactory experience owning a Petzl more than 10 years ago. its small, light, weatherproof and more than bright enough for most tasks whether its night walking, working around camps, or during a black-out. however, after two years of infrequent usage the band has lost its elasticity - rather too early in my opinion, and the lamp unit doesnt close properly anymore after a few inevitable drops which has broken a chip off a corner. as a result, the headlamps weatherproofness is compromised and it doesnt hold the batteries very well anymore. for a gear designed for outdoor use, i believe it is not unreasonable to expect the built quality to be better. Running Partner  On: 2007-08-29During the months of fall when the days are short and I still want to get that run in after work my Tikka comes in handy. Not to mention that its far more reliable than any running partner out there. It also gets an impressive 120 hours of usable light from its batteries. Left out in the rain On: 2007-08-29I accidentally left mine outside during a rain storm and it still works as if it were new! Im sold on the quality and will always use and recommend Petzl headlamps. |
