Reviews A 123R User's Answered Prayer! - GET ONE! by: on: 31-Aug 2010 OK, i'll be honest: I'm not really enamored with the puke green theme that has popped up in the Optimus product line; BUT, i understand how the coloring can be useful in snow or in semi-darkness... AND, i've managed to acquire a number of the puke-green products over the past several years, such as the Hiker Plus, the plastic coffee cup with attached shooter cup, a Crux, Crux Lite, funnel, and now, the Terra Weekend cookset, which features - you guess it - puke green handles... But as a hard-core Svea 123R user, this anodized cookset is the dog's you-know-whats! i fashioned a neoprene 'sock' for my 123R (to prevent knocking about and interior surface damage to cooksets)... the 123R fits inside the larger pot/pan of the similar anodized el-cheapo Coleman Exponent Solo cookset found at Wally World (i use its smaller, inner cookset for a meths stove while on the bicycle) - but this new Optimus Terra cookset, which consists of a mesh bag, pan, and pot with punched measures and pouring lip, is a PERFECT fit for the 123R! My prayers for a high-quality, insulated handled, heat-exchanger cookset to match my 123R have been answered! GOOD JOB, Mr./Ms. Optimus designer! The heat-exchanger on the bottom of the pot will help save fuel while cooking, but doesn't add a lot of weight. Get this cookset! It is well designed, reasonably priced, matched to a product line, and beats the competition hands down! View All Pots & Pans |
